Bonner AmeriCorps Implementation: Five Management Phases

1. Recruit eligible students

2. Orientation, Application and Enrollment

3. Place all Members in eligible positions at approved service sites

4. Track and evaluate Member progress

5. Exit Members within 30 days of last service day

What makes a student eligible to enroll?

✓Must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident

‣ Documentation of eligibility is required

✓Other considerations:

‣ Does student have strong interest in serving in the U.S. at an AmeriCorps-eligible site or

‣ Will student go abroad soon (ineligible)?

Enrollment & Orientation: Overview

1. Campus staff facilitates the pre-enrollment Bonner AmeriCorps Application Process for potential Members

2. Campus staff hosts the required Bonner AmeriCorps Orientation

3. During Orientation, Members complete the AmeriCorps Enrollment Workbook

4. Campus Staff completes Member Enrollment Checklist

5. Mail Enrollment Packet to Foundation immediately!

Eligible Placements: Overview

AmeriCorps members should be serving in placements that:

✓ Focus on direct service

✓ Benefit the local community (outreach) to meet essential needs

✓ Service in an After-School Program (ASP) or in a Capacity-Building (CB) role

Exiting Members: Overview

1. Resolve all open cases 2. Use Hour Log Analysis Tab to confirm hours have

all been “eSigned” & approved on all levels

3. Confirm “eSignatures” applied in proper order 4. Complete required Member Evaluation(s) in

BWBRS

5. Have Member fill out, sign & date AmeriCorps Exit Form

6. Complete Exit Check List 7. Mail Exit Packet to Foundation immediately after

completion!
