Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest Our library media center will be getting into the fall spirit by having a pumpkin/gourd decorating contest of favorite book characters. Entries may be dropped off at the library only from Monday, October 22 nd through Monday, October 29 th . CONTEST RULES: You may use pumpkins or gourds or both to create your project. Absolutely no carved entries. Pumpkins/gourds that have carved, poked, or punctured skin will be disqualified. To decorate you can use paper, glue, paint, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items on the pumpkin. BE CREATIVE! Projects must represent a book character from a book which would be appropriate for middle school students. Elementary level picture books may also be used. On the entry form you must write the title and author of the book, and bring the book or a picture of the book cover to display with your pumpkin/gourds. This is a home project and entries should be done mostly by the students, but parents or other family members may help. Do not write your name anywhere on the project. When you bring your pumpkin to Mrs. White, she will take your pumpkin and entry form and assign it a number. All projects should be picked up by November 2. Those that remain past this date will be thrown away. PRIZES: Students and staff vote for their favorite pumpkin in each category. 6 th 7 th and 8 th grade- $15 Scholastic Book Fair gift certificate for each grade level winner and a small prize for the runners-up in each grade level. Staff- MMS staff members may also enter. Students will vote for their favorite staff pumpkin. Winner will receive a $25 Scholastic Book Fair gift certificate Overall favorite- an additional $10 Scholastic Book Fair gift certificate will be awarded to the best overall student pumpkin.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Our library media center will be getting into the fall spirit by having a pumpkin/gourd decorating contest of favorite book characters.

Entries may be dropped off at the library only from Monday, October 22nd through Monday, October 29th.
