Book Love Summer Book Club ‘18 Frequently Asked Questions Registration: 1. Why can’t you ship to our residence? Booksource has generously offered to assemble and ship to all of our Book Club participants as a donation to the Club. This is a huge savings for us! Because Booksource typically ships to schools, it is not set up to collect and remit sales tax. Schools are exempt from sales tax – residences are not. Thank you for understanding! 2. When will books be shipped? Books will be shipped during the second half of May with all participants receiving their books by May 31 st . If you are one of those lucky ones that get out before the end of May, and you are not able to pick up your order after that date, we recommend that you go with the BYOB (Bring Your Own Books) option. 3. Why does it take so long to get our books? The more books we buy at once, the better pricing we can get and the more money can be dedicated to granting libraries to deserving classroom teachers… with it only being our second year, it’s hard for us to know how many people will join us! So we have to wait until registration is winding down before we can take delivery of the book order. 4. I participated last year – can I just renew my membership? We don’t have a renewal option at this time, so this year’s registration is completely separate and distinct from last year. This prevents address errors, billing errors, etc. If you used the recurring option in 2017, those recurring payments will end after your April payment. So since we are registering a month earlier this year, it is possible that if you select the recurring option again, that you will have two payments processed in April – one would be the final payment for 2017 and the other the first payment for 2018. Online Content: 1. I participated last year – what will happen to my access to the Facebook group page? You will be able to continue your access through the month of May. Effective June 1 st , anyone who has not signed up for the 2018 group will be removed from the Facebook group page. 2. What’s the deal with the Goodreads page? We had a lot of comments last year from participants who were struggling to locate the book discussion posts… especially if they were trying to access those posts days or weeks after they were originally posted. We tried adding hashtags, but that didn’t work very well either. Goodreads enables us to provide more of an outline structure so you can easily locate the book and the posting within that particular book much more easily. 3. What is the schedule for the book discussions and live chats with Penny? We are working on that schedule now – our plan is to post the schedule in early May once registrations are complete.
