Student Led Conferences 2016

It was great to see so many families attend the Student Led Conferences and share in their child’s learning. We

know that students become more likely to be successful when parents are involved in the learning.

Following the conferences, we asked the students to give us some feedback. We would like to share some of it with

you: How do you think the conference went on the day?

Which conference format do you prefer?

WORKING AS EXPERTS TEACHING OTHERS We are really lucky in Room 24 to be the

teachers to other classes in the school. This

year we have supported Room 25 in their

learning of the amazing Sway tool and Room 22

in learning how to use Night Zookeeper for

writing

I am going to play outside

I am going to play outside to-

day,

It is the best thing,

It will be fun to go outside,

And I hope you come.

Flamingos (Saying pink in all

the sentences)

Flamingos are pink,

They have shaded pink,

Come and touch there pink fur

and there wings.

Computers (Last one)

Computers are technology,

Computers are fun

By Katelynn

ROOM 24—YEAR 4 Technology is second nature to us We have been very

fortunate to go 1 to 1 with

devices in room 24 to

support our learning this

year. We are given many

opportunities to use the

devices in our class to

support our learning in a

variety of ways.

We can use the cool

presentation tool SWAY

The whispering woods are in

the night zoo. If you come to

the night zoo you might see

a little bit of the whispering

woods but you are not

allowed to go in. If you look

at it from the outside it looks

very pretty but once you go

inside you will never be seen

again. A long time ago the

whispering woods was open

to the public until one day.

Page 5: BOOK PARADE Issue 13, 2016PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGES

Room 26—Year 4 We have been learning how to include onomatopoeia (sound effects) and similes in our

writing. Once upon a time, there was a book parade. There was a pigeon who really wanted

to lead the book parade. Harry Potter threw a pokeball to Ash Catchem

*ding* so he would get Pikachu. Click! That was official photographer,

Kaelen, taking a picture. Hulk 1 became so angry because CIA man

tried to capture him like he was a big fat gorilla.

There was a very sneaky cat who tried to steal Little Red Riding Hoods treats.

Luckily the wolf came along and scared the cat away. When Little Red Riding Hood handed

out her treats, everyone felt like they were in Candyland. There were two more Little Red

Riding Hoods who sang happy songs because they were as happy as butterflies

in the bright sunlight.

JoJo Siwa and Harley Quinn, a stylish pirate and Brooke from

Dance Moms all became friends. Together they had a dance party.

Then a Teenage Ninja Turtle appeared and said, “How could you have a dance party without

me? I’m the best dancer in the world?” *CRACK* Look! There is Jack Frost.

Hulk smashed a big block of ice that was in the way of the parade. Out of the ice came

Jack Frost. Then they ordered pizza and Luke Skywalker cooked it with his light saber.

“What are you doing, you’re burning the pizza.” That was

Captain Rex . Princess Anna Daniel, Julie and Dilanna saw all

this trouble and decided to build a snowman. The snowman came to life and started

throwing snowballs at people.

That didn’t work, so Cyrus started a dab party so everyone walked down the street

doing the dab. The End.
