28 participants coming from EU, SEE and Caucasus and create open platform for reflecting on participants realities, creating new partnerships supporting regional and across regional cooperation and especially devel-oping new project ideas that implemented by the part-ners promoters would lead to development of quality of services that are being providing to young people with special focus on young people with fewer opportunities in way to support their inclusion into the society and help them to become active citizens who understand different cultures and are aware of their citizens’ rights and opportunities.

To reach the project goals and objectives the partici-pants coming from Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Serbia, Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine, Croatia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Turkey had for 8 - days an opportunity to take part in variety non-formal based activities including lectures, simulations, theoretical insights or work in multicultural teams that provided them an opportunity to work on development set of individual skills and competencies as well as strength their ability to develop and imple-mented actions under YiA Programme.

PARTNERSHIP

Main aim of “PBA: Out of Target” was to support de-velopment of new partnerships, networking and brain-storming new ideas for projects aiming to give new opportunities to young people facing social exclusion and discrimination.

The first part of the project was full of various activi-ties providing the participants an opportunity to get to know each other as to explore the realities in partici-pants countries. Moreover the participants had also an opportunity to take part in various sessions aiming to increase their competencies needed for work in NGO sector.

On upcoming pages you can find descriptions of several activities implemented during these dates.

The participants are sitting in two circles - inner and outside one. Fac-ing each other. Participants in inner circle are keeping their places when participants sitting in outside circles are changing their place after 5 - 10 minutes thus all involved have an opportunity to introduce their organiza-tion, activities and discuss any issues that concern them.

Participants are divided in couples. Their task is to interview each other and create profile of the other person that they will be after presenting to the whole group. During the talk they can focus on the professional back-ground of the person but also ask questions in connection to learn more about the person hobbies, interests or future plans.

Participants are divided in couples. One participant has closed eyes and other participant is leading his/her walk by touching person back. The person who has closed eyes should feel comfortable and enjoy the walk.

There is rope between two trees. Under the rope is fire thus the participants cannot pass under the rope just over it. The task is to get from one side to other side. And mis-sion is completed at moment when each member of the team is on the other side.

After the activity should follow up debriefing reflecting on the communication among the team, leadership, support - Did everyone was involved? Did everyone feel supported? Did the strategy was discussed?

Important part of the project were NGO Fairs which gave participants an opportunity to share information about their organizations, activities that they are implementing, experience with Youth in Action Programme and with its various actions, their countries realities. In case of this PBA the participants could decide about the format of the presentation - they show photos or other multimedia materials, open up discussion…

After NGO Fairs they were asked to put the most impor-tant information on flipchart that they were after spread around the working room so during the project days the other participants can ask question and receive additional information.

Moreover, also each participant was asked to create his/her personal profile providing others opportunities to see the interests and possibility for networking.

COMMUNICATION, SOCIAL MEDIA, PUBLIC RELATIONS

During the PBA: Out of Target the participants had also an opportunity to work on development their communication and public relations skills.For example during one activity the participants had an opportunity to practice “pitching” – people had 2 min to convince somebody to do what they needed - to become local volunteer, to motivate someone to take part in EVS or youth exchange etc.. After each performance involved participants received feedback with goal to improve their communication skills and competencies.

In case of social media the participants had opportunity to get to know more about Facebook and the ways how to use it for organization needs.

Where to find partners?

The best way is to use contacts gathered in previous project and actions -the advantage is clear you already know people and their organizations.

Other possible way is to post open call to Facebook and email groups connected with Youth in Action Programme, published the call at your Facebook page, in your Facebook group.

Or you can also find potential partner in OTLAS - the database on SALTO website where you can search for partners, create profile of your organization as well as spread information about your project.

Second part of PBA: Out of Target was dedicted to work on new project ideas. Firstly, the participants had an opportunity to take part in several creative exercises and brainstorm new ideas and afterwards they were work-ing in multicultural teams on new projects that they after presented to other participants and to the project team.

On the next pages you can find summary of some of the ideas developed during the PBA.

Idea: Personal Development and Outdoor in Context of Social Inclusion - Youth Exchange: High Hopes!

High Hopes! is a 10 days Youth Exchange that will take place in Uzana area, Bulgaria, 6th -15th of June 2014. The main objectives of the Youth Exchange are to use sports and outdoor activities as a tool to foster young people’s personal development in a context of social inclusion. The aim is to promote the healthy lifestyle involving people with few opportunities from Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Moldavia. Participants, 5 per country + 1 leader, will come from dif-ferent backgrounds and will have an opportunity to share their knowledge and at the same time to learn new methods of using audio visual material to promote healthy lifestyle. The main point of the program is gong to be a public event organized by the participants. In this way they will develop their leadership and entrepreneurship skills. The methods that we’re going to use are learning to play and playing to learn, learning by doing, gaming, outdoor, team-building activities, ice-breaking activities, energisers, brainstorming and workshops. The APV meeting will take place with a week before the program starts, from May 30th un until June 1st, 2014. Schedule. Day 1: arrival. Day 2: Intro and rules of the YE, short intro about YiA, Youth pass, Get to know each other games, team building activities, intercultural evening 1, evaluation of the day. Day 3: Team and trust building games (low ropes, high ropes, stage dive), intercultural evening 2, evaluation. Day 4: Dances work-shop (zumba, belly-dance, social dances, traditional dances), Sharing healthy lifestyles, workshops on indoor sports, intercultural evening 3, evaluation. Day 5: Yoga, self-defence (aikido), ball games, intercultural evening 4, evaluation. Day 6: Eco day: hiking, treasure game in the rural area, interac-tion with local people by community work, camp fire, evaluation. Day 7: hard trust games, personal development, preparation for the public event, media techniques workshop, limelight, karaoke, evaluation. Day 8: Interaction with local people using media and promotion of healthy lifestyle, Pub-lic event (workshops held by the participants at the swimming pool), video editing, evaluation. Day 9: Final evaluation of the YE, Youthpass ceremony, YiA Programme, dissemination, future projects preparation, goodbye party. Day 10: departure.

Idea: Environmental Issues Through Outdoor Activities - Youth Exchange: Ready, Set, FEEL!

Themes: media, out door, environment. Project summary: The purpose of the project is to bring together youngsters from different countries, with different backgrounds in order to share and learn how to use media tools in an environment aware space. Another important goal of this exchange is to use outdoor activities for raising environmental awareness. The participants will step by step learn about different photography techniques and how to apply them correctly when they want to draw attention on an environmental issue (1st part of the program). For this, in the second part of the programme participants will receive a task to shoot their own perception of the country, both in city and in nature, in 4 pictures. For this they will have 4 working days, the open event orga-nized by themselves involving the local community. In this event they will present a poster with the pictures they choose before. These days they will also be facilitated with different outdoor activi-ties for personal development. The participants will work in teams of 4 people + 1 coach (trainer or group leader). The aim and the structure of the project are to encourage participants to expand their creativity and knowledge. Timetable: Day 1- arrival day + introduction, getting to know; day 2 and day 3 - teambuilding + trusting games -> outdoor + media mainly (we will use media (partici-pants) knowledge to get to see the general info they have); day 4 and day 5 – professional media workshops, picture editing, regular feedback for the group, tips and tricks (ex. activity: 3 pictures in the same environment on a chosen theme, presentation, feedback, grammar mistakes etc.); day 6 – environment issues + senses; day 7 – open space; day 8 – trip to Thessaloniki + receiving of the final task; day 9 and day 10 – preparations for the open event, promotions, media partners, picture editing, creating the posters; day 11 – open event + goodbye; day 12 – departure day. Venue: Hotel Lake Keskini, Greece. Partners: Greece, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania. Participants: 4p + 1 group leader. Working methods: learning by experience, open space. Visibility: open event in the local community + exhibition of all the final posters in all the partner countries.

Idea: Raising Awareness about STD - Youth Exchange ‘STD Awareness’

“STD Awareness”. 5 participants from every country + 1 leader. „STD Awareness” is youth ex-change which will take place in urban area. The project aims to educate youth about STD’s how they are transmitted, cured and prevented. Our main activities are: sharing knowledge about STD’s and making actions like sharing condoms, pamphlets etc. Our target group are people from age 16 - ~. The aim of this project is to make an educational market with theatre performance. Program is divided by four first days as an educational part and the next 4 days as a preparing of presentations. Day 1: Arrival of participants, dinner, introduction of participants, welcome evening. Day 2: Introduc-tion of the project, team building activities. Day 3: Real life stories, lecture from professors, doctors etc. Day 4: Ideas for Drama performance, share experience. Day 5: groups for theatre, presentation of the ideas and picking the best one or two. Day 6: leaflets and pamphlets, practice. Day 7: presen-tation, theatre. Day 8: departure time.

Idea: Fighting Human Trafficking - Youth Exchange: ‘Under the Rainbow, „One world we live in together’

Venue: in Istanbul. Participants: Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Romania, Croatia, BG, Greece. Themes: social inclusion via outdoor activities. Objectivities: promote equality in all aspects between people from all over the world. Short description: this project is like a rainbow. It has all colours of life. We will gather people from EU and neighbouring coun-ties who believe in equality. Our impact: we will provide as much as possible workshops and tasks with different groups of local people. Program: In the first part we will more like provide teambuilding and getting to know each other activities and some expectations and goals activities (2 days). In the second part we will work on the problems our society is still facing. We will have several guest lecturers specializing in gender equality studies and some movies about enslaving people by trafficking or selling people as a product (4 days). In the third part we will start for several days develop presentations, public events and activities we will involve several local groups of people who will have an opportunity to learn from us (4 days). In the fourth part we will be in the city. We will for two days work with the youngsters and the freshman’s’ in the main universities to promote our equality and glob-ally united people cause. It is important to stress that the main aim of the project is not to promote people to lose their identity and culture they come from but just not to judge each other by some common belief or prejudice and that we all have to be one family if we want to successfully live together in society.

Idea: PBA: ‘Limitless’

30 participants from 15 countries balanced of partners coming from dif-ferent regions. PBA „Limitless” is an activity that will take place in Croa-tia and will last for 10 days. The aim of this project is to improve pre-sentational and speaking skills of the participants so they could make better connections with their target groups when doing different kinds of projects. It is meant for all the professionals and volunteers working with people who want to enrich and develop their work and presenta-tion skills. Participants will be sharing experiences and alternative ways of presenting for their personal development, but also for sharing new skills and knowledge with people from their organizations. The project will also give professional feedback to improve the employability of youth through projects that will be developed during the PBA. Agenda. Day 1: Arrival, Ice breaking. Day 2: T-building, intro of the participants, intro of the project, sharing experiences, ICL. Day 3: TBA, Learn how to make PPT, Public speaking, ICL. Day 4: TBA group dynamics, alterna-tive ways of expression, share info without talking, ICL. Day 5: Fieldtrip to Istria. Day 6: TBA gaining trust, ways for connection, Body language activities, ICL. Day 7: Partnership building activities, professional presentation skills demo, NGO market, Dinner and party in castle. Day 8: PBA, creating database, NGO market, free evening. Day 9: Paintball, feedback, goodbye party. Day 10: departure of the participants.

Giving Youth Pass Certificates.

The ‘PBA: Out of Target’ was closed up by final evaluation during which the participants shared their feedback within the group through several activi-ties - creating a collage representing their feelings and memories, writing personal messaged to each other or filling the final evaluation forms that provided them an opportunity to reflect on the practical aspects of the project, evaluate the work of the team including experts as to provide reflect on their own learning achievements. And as recognition of the participants’ intangible results the participants also received Youth Pass certificates.
