BOOKS AS A PRESERVER OF A SOCIETY 

Books are a tangible, valuable record of our world. Sure we have the

internet and computers with vast amounts of information stored in them but

all of history isn't in a computer. History, the stories of civilizations long gone

and ancient languages forgotten are somewhere in a book. Books are there

so you can learn, imagine and sometimes escape from the world around you.

Books enable us to see life through other people eyes. People are able to

communicate their view of the world to a large audience. Books also enable

us to understand other cultures, which in turn enables us to relate better

with others. Books can have a profound effect on society and the world

because they enable an individual to change the world.

  The most beautiful thing of human mind is his creation which is the

production of his mind, whether this creation happen to be in the form of 

poetry, novel, prose or sculpture. These all are proof of the development and

creativity of a human mind and a proof in the shape of books.

If we see, we will come to know that books have played a great role in

preserving culture of its very era. Holy Quran, for example, is one and only

religious book of Islam. It shows us from religious stories, events in detail

about Prophets, from a straight way to Allah by understanding differencebetween good and evil to rules and regulation of our society, from ethics,

code and conduct of society to upheavals of being a wholesome Muslim and

a citizen of the nation at the same time. It is a book of, including all the

aspects, humanity and gives us a preview on the Day of Judgment. By

translating it, we can enlighten our souls and apply its rules on us so that we

can be a good Muslim and a good civilian as its writer is Allah Himself. In first

revelation by Gabriel, Gabriel said to Muhammad "Iqra," meaning "read" or 

"recite." it clearly shows that Allah has emphasized on writing and reading.

Many poets, dramatists, writers have applied a wonderful impact onour soul by their creation. Their books are big source to give us the glimpse

of their society of its production time. Besides, there are books through

which writers have brought changing through their writing like Allama Iqbal,

who is also called as “Poet of East”, played a great role in the partition of 

Sub-continent through his poetry.

Besides, we can see influence of books in Renaissance age, where

people had started taking a new interest in literature and, to above all, Bible

had been translated in English for the first time.
