Boone County Community Foundation A Reflection of 2016

While the Boone County economy is struggling,

BCCF is honored that three new funds have been

established this past year. BCCF completely

depends on donors establishing and endowing

funds for us to distribute the spending each year

within our county. BCCF currently has seventeen

endowed funds and one that is still building. As

of the second quarter of 2016, BCCF has an

unaudited fund total of $1,463,673. The

following are the new funds and each will be

available for distribution in 2018:

The Lloyd Guy Memorial Fund was created

and established in April 2016. Mrs. Faye D.

Price established this fund in memory of her

late husband, Lloyd Guy. This fund is a

discretionary fund.

On April 5, 2016, Mary A. and Jimmie L.

Browning, created and established the

Armstrong-Browning Family Fund. This

discretionary fund became fully endowed in

November 2016.

The D&T Harless Education Scholarship

Fund was created in November 2016 by

Debra and Terry Harless, both educators. This

scholarship will be available to a Scott High

School senior that will be attending college

and majoring in the Education field.

THREE NEW FUNDS

YAWKEY FOUNDATION AWARDS

GRANTS TO BCCF

The BCCF Board members invited one high school junior from

each high school in Boone County to participate in our Grant

Distribution Committee in June 2016. By inviting youth to our

committee, BCCF provided an awesome opportunity for three local

high school students to gain leadership experience while working

as part of a diverse team to make decisions that have a real impact.

Students learned about the nonprofits in our community that are

working on projects to meet the needs of our county. The youth of

today are our citizens of tomorrow. JJ Handley of Scott High

School, Caleb Duncan of Sherman High School, and Hunter

Cregger of Van High School participated.
