1 Introduction & Prerequisites

1.1 Prerequis ites

All exercises will be done on servers (AS ABAP and HANA) provided by SAP. Login information

is provided during the workshop

IMPORTANT: To be able to participate in the exercises you need to use your own laptop,

ideally a 64-bit Windows based machine

The following system requirements have to be met

Operating System Windows 7, Windows 8, Vista (32- or 64-Bit)64-bit recommended

Java Runtime JRE 1.6 or higher, 32-Bit or 64-Bit

SAP GUI for Windows 7.20 Patch Level 9 or higher (Windows OS)

Browser Internet Explorer 8.0 or higher / Firefox 4.0 or higher

Eclipse Platform Eclipse 4.2 (installed during the SAP HANA Studio installation)

Go to the folder where you downloaded the software components i.e. c:\temp or similar. After unpacking,you should see a structure like this:

Install the SAP_HANA Client accordingto your environment.Note:Rule of thumb:64-bit Windows = both driver packages(32+64)

2. Start the installation by runninghdbinst.exe

3. Install the SAP_HANA Studio accordingto your environment.

Also start the installation by runninghdbinst.exeNote:64-bit version is preferred

4. Install the SAPGui on your PC.

5. Locate the NW_7.0_Presentation folder

6. Start/Pres1/GUI/Windows/Win32/SapGuiSetup.exe

2.3 Validation

2.3.1 Check if SAP HANA drivers are installed

1. Start File Explorer

2. Navigate to:

64-bit: C:\Program Files\sap

32-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\sap

3. Make sure you have the right hdbclientpackage installed!see Software Install Chart

3 Add UI5 Development (XS) to SAP HANA Studio

3.1 Objec tive

Extend the capabilities of your Eclipse environment (SAP HANA Studio) and add the requiredcomponents for UI5 developments (XS Engine).

3.2 Procedu re

1. Start the SAP HANA Studio from thePrograms Menu.

2. Select File / Import

3. Select Install / Install Software Itemsfrom File

4. Click Next

5. Click Browse

6. Locate the file Step1_UI5.p2f

7. Click Open

8. Check install latest version of selectedsoftware

9. Click Next

10. Click on Finish

11. Accept the licence agreement and theSecurity Warning

12. Click OK

13. Click on Yes to restart your SAP HANAStudio

14. Select Help / Install New Software

15. Click on Add

17. Locate your UI5TOOLxxx.zip archivefile.

18. Click Open

19. Name this archive UI5

20. Click OK

21. You now have the UI developmenttoolkit for HTML5 available for selection.If your initial screen looks different,check the Group items by category box

22. Click on Next. A total of 4 componentsshould be selected now. Click on Nextonce more

23. Accept the license terms and finish theinstallation.

24. You can now start to create UI5Projects.

4 Add ABAP Development Tools to SAP HANA Studio

4.1 Objec tive

Extend the capabilities of your Eclipse environment (SAP HANA Studio) and add the requiredcomponents for ABAP developments.

4.2 Procedu re

1. Start the SAP HANA Studio from thePrograms Menu.

2. Select File / Import

3. Select Install / Install Software Itemsfrom File

4. Click Next

8. All required components are shown

9. Click Next to start the installation(identification of elements)
