will temporarily give way then return to its original tension, making it a safer fencing option.

Border Line is extremely strong and makes a sturdy and durable fence, but gentle - making it perfectly suited to equine fencing.

Installation of a Border Line fence greatly reduces the risk of horse injuries. Steel wires used in fencing are the main cause of injuries

Border Line is a white, high strength, specially formulated, solid polymer monofilament (containing no steel). When strained up, it will protect and restrain horses like no other. It is a polymer fencing system that replaces steel wire fences as a safer choice for your stock.

We recommend 5 strands of Border Line and 1 strand of

EQUIROPE (see page 10). The strands should be positioned as

shown in the example on the right

In a foal paddock, we suggest another strand of EQUIROPE at

600mm above the ground. Border Line can be run through either

posts or insulators.

Typical installation example

Straining Border Line

• We recommend a 3% straining for Border Line (and

1% for Border Line Star). Standard tensioning tools can

be used.

• Calculate the distance between strainer posts (as per

above example).

• Tie Border Line off on one end and make a mark (using

ink) at the distance between strainer posts, minus 3%,

100m Minus 3% = 97m in the above example (1 % for

Border Line Star).

• Tension the Border Line until the 97m mark is in line

with your end strainer post and tie off.

The Safe Suggestion

You may vary the spacing between strands depending on whether you keep foals in the paddock or not.

Space between posts should be 6 meters.
