Students in the social communication classroom at Five PointsElementary learn and practice life skills each week. Thisincludes cooking simple foods using basic kitchen gadgets and

appliances with assistance from Mrs. Stacy and the classroomparaprofessionals. Many of the students are visual learnersand use pictures and sequencing layouts to learn.

These students put their cooking skills to use by hostinga pre-Easter meal for the staff before Spring Break. Paired withtheir Student Council buddies, the students helped set thetables with tablecloths, chairs, place settings and decorationsto transform their classroom into what is known as Stacy'sBistro.

During the event, the students took turns collecting asmall donation for the meal and offered guests muffins, desserts and beverages.

Many thanks to our students, classroom aides, and staff for another successful Bistro!
