Yury Borzakovskiy was born April 12, 1981 in the township Kratovo,
Moscow region. The Russian athlete. Olympic champion 2004,
world champion and two-time European champion, Merited
Master of Sports of Russia (2001), an honorary citizen of the city of
Zhukovsky. One of the six Olympic champions from Russia in the
men's athletics and is the only - in cross country disciplines. Has

He graduated the Moscow
State Academy of Physical Culture and Technical
College on a specialty, "welder".

In 1997 he became the champion of
Russia among young people, and the next year won the World Youth
Games. At the same time,

meters. At the Sydney Olympics

At age 18, in 2000 Borzakovskiy married. Now, together with his wife Irene and children live in
Zhukovsky near Moscow on the prize money from competitions.
