ello and welcome to tonight’s DivisionTwo Challenge Cup Semi Final as holdersBosham play Montpelier Villa at theShooting Field.

I would like to take this opportunity to thankSteyning Town for hosting this evening’smatch, and I hope you all make use of theirfacilities and have a safe journey home afterthe conclusion of the match.

I would like to welcome both sets of players,club officials and supporters and hope youenjoy what we hope to be an enjoyable match.

A further welcome goes to this evening’s matchofficials: referee Robert King and his assist-ants, Charles Bowen and Chris Handley.Congratulations to you all on tonight’sappointment, and we hope you enjoy the game.

Bosham lifted the cup last season after a 3-0win against Sidlesham at Nyetimber Lane, Pa-gham, and the holders will hope to retain theirtitle, with league newcomers Montpelier Villalooking to cause an upset.

In their first season in the Southern Combina-tion League, Villa have impressed on the pitchand sit in eighth spot - nine points behind the

Robins, although Bosham do have two gamesin hand on the Sussex University outfit.

In the league, Bosham have completed a dou-ble over Bill Clifford’s men, but they sharedtwo different matches.

In their home fixture, Bosham ran out 3-1 win-ners - Nick Edgington, Alex Barnes and MarcoGiambelardini on target. However, the teamsshared nine goals in the return fixture, with thevisitors winning 5-4 at the beginning of themonth. Two goals each from Alex Barnes andJames Wilson saw Bosham race into a 4-0 lead,but only for Montpelier to draw level at 4-4with ten minutes to go. However, Neil Redmanstruck late on to give the visitors the win.

The winner of tonight’s match will play eitherAFC Varndeanians or Ferring in the final, with adate, venue and kick off to be confirmed. Thetwo sides play each other tomorrow night atCrabree Park, Wick & Barnham.

Chichester City finished in thetop five after they won at Hor-sham YMCA. Jimmy Wild andDan Hegarty scored twice in asmany second half minutes forChi, who held on to win 2-1 de-spite Anthony Hibbert strikinglate on for the hosts.

Hailsham Town couldn’t end theseason with a win as they lost aseven-goal thriller at home toLittlehampton Town. Rob Hutch-ings scored twice, with MitchellHand and Shay Wiggans also ontarget for the Golds, despite Hail-sham coming back from twogoals down to draw level at 2-2.

Kristian Harding’s first half effortsaw East Preston pick up onlytheir third win of the season athome to AFC Uckfield Town,whilst Peter Cooper and LiamBaitup were on target for East-bourne United in a 2-1 winagainst Worthing United.

Dan Simmonds scored twice forWick & Barnham United as theycame from a goal down to win atHassocks. Jonno Melia had putthe hosts ahead at the break, butonly for Joe Matthews, AndyChick and a double from Sim-monds to see Wick & Barnhamrun out 4-1 winners.

In the Premier Division’s othergame, Jake Holmes scored twice,with Stuart Chester also on tar-

get for Broadbridge Heath in a3-1 win at Shoreham.

In Division One, the race for thirdplace will go down to the wirebetween Oakwood, Storringtonand Southwick.Oakwood moved above theSwans after they won at LangneyWanderers. Jack McNab scoredtwice for the visitors at Shinewa-ter Rec, with Jamie Wanstall alsoon target in the 3-2 win. ShaneSaunders scored twice for Wan-derers, but it proved to be in vein.Southwick are two points behindOakwood and Storrington in fifthgoing into their final game aftergoals from Smith and Donnellysaw them win 2-1 at home toSaltdean United.

Mile Oak’s hopes of promotionhave gone for this season afterthey suffered a 3-0 defeat athome to Crawley Down Gatwick.Don Paisley scored twice, withOli Leslie also on target for theAnvils at Mile Oak Rec.

Lingfield are on course for a topeight finish after coming frombehind to win at Steyning Town.Craig Knowles gave the hosts thelead, but only for James Williamsto draw the Lingers level beforethe break. Declan Smith andthen Williams struck in the sec-ond half to see the visitors win3-1 at the Shooting Field.Tom Bayley and Tom Jefkins bothscored hat-tricks for Sidlesham

The final weekend in the PremierDivision of the Macron StoreSouthern Combination FootballLeague produced no fewer than39 goals, with Horsham celebrat-ing the title with a narrow win atPagham.

Darren Boswell scored the onlygoal for the Hornets, who endthe season with 97 points andjust three defeats after their 1-0win at Nyetimber Lane.

Eastbourne Town finish elevenpoints behind Dom Di Paola’sside in second after they suf-fered a surprise defeat at Lanc-ing. Naim Rouane scored ahat-trick for Ash Bailey’s side atCulver Road, with Lewis Finneyon target on the hour as thehosts ran out impressive 4-0 win-ners.

Newhaven sealed a third placefinish with a 2-0 win at home toLoxwood. Lee Robinson scoredhis 43rd  goal of the campaign,whilst Adam Kneller got the oth-er goal for the Dockers, whohave the Peter Bentley Cup Finalto look forward to on May 2.

Unfortunately St. Francis Rang-ers ended the season how theystarted it – with a heavy defeat.Harry Russell scored a hat-trickfor Arundel, with Dave Herbertand Max Thoms both scoringtwice as they hosts ran out 9-0winners at Mill Road. Asa Nichol-

Lewis Hamilton scored twice forMidhurst & Easebourne as theywon 4-1 against Selsey. AnthonyKirby and George Morris werealso on target for the Stags.In the Division’s other game,Jamie Crone and Martin Dennyscored in the second half for Lit-tle Common as they won 2-0 atSeaford Town.

Tariq Richards’ winner gave AFCVarndeanians all three points tomove four points clear at the topof Division Two. Devon Fender

They are now four points clear ofCowfold in second after they fellto a 2-0 defeat at Bosham. Rottingdean Village are in thirdspot after an emphatic winagainst Alfold at home. Casey

Upper Beeding are sixth afterthey beat AFC Roffey Club, 3-0.Ben Whales, Timothy Tapscottand James Rowland got the goalsfor the hosts in the in.

Mike Asare, Carl Bennett andChris Darwin got the goals forRustington as they won 3-1against Montpelier Villa.

Ryan Hudson, Ben Adfield, Cha-hir Maizi and Tom Baker scoredfor Clymping as they eased to a4-1 win at Hurstpiepoint, whilstin the division’s other game, Ros-si Kaye got the only goal for Fer-ring in a 1-0 win at Ifield Galaxy.

Ben BLANSHARD, Age 38, Centre Half/ Left Back.Tall centre half, strong in the air. Played in theSussex County League Division 1 for Selsey andwas part of the double winning Bosham side of2009/10. Ben reads the game well, and was a ma-jor contributor to Bosham's best defensive recordin the West Sussex Premier Division in 2012/13.Ankle problems have limited Ben’s appearancesthis season, scoring once in our 1-0 home winagainst AFC Roffey in October.

Dave BRYANT, Age 27, Centre Half. No nonsense,strong defender now in his second season withBosham, and a regular in the back-line. Scored hismaiden goal this season in our away win at Rusting-ton earlier this month.

Kieran MAGEE – Age 21, Goalkeeper. Plucked fromthe Portsmouth Sunday League, Kieran has takenthe step-up in standard in his stride in making theno 1 shirt his own. An agile and commanding shot-stopper with great distribution. Ever present thisseason with 14 clean sheets to his name. Division3 Cup winner in 2014/15.

Andy PROBEE, Age 36, Player Manager/ Right Back.Experienced and combative player with a numberof spells at Bosham. Mainly seen at right backalthough equally at home in midfield. Previous ex-perience managing Chichester City Reserves andspent two seasons as Sidlesham player/ managerin the Sussex County League Division 2. Andy wasthe ideal candidate to step-up to Player/ Coach atBosham for the 2013/14 season, before becomingthe club's first team manager in November 2013,where he led the club to the West Sussex PremierDivision title, and last season’s Division 3 Cup tri-umph against Sidlesham.

PAT BULBECK, Age 20, Left Back. Chichester Uni-versity student who has been an assured presencein the back-line since signing at the start of theseason. Pat is comfortable in possession, has agreat leap, and loves to get forward - linking up wellwith likes of Graeme Dowden and Alex Barnesdown left side. 21 appearances so far this season.

CALLUM FEWELL, Age 21, Central Defence. Youthand reserve team product, Callum is a strong andcommanding defender who can also play in mid-field. Made his senior debut in 2012/13, scoringthe only goal in a win at Faygate United. Beginningto establish at heart of defence, with ten appear-

Jake LAFFERTY, Age 29, Midfield. In his secondseason with Bosham, having been part of Division3 Cup winning side last year. Vocal presence on thepitch with great technical ability - can maneuverout of the tightest of corners, and will chase lostcauses all day long. 12 appearances this seasonhave returned three goals.

RYAN HILLIER, Age 22, Forward. Re-signed for theclub after a spell at West Sussex League side, Fittle-worth this season, Ryan has impressed for thereserves – most notably scoring a hat-trick in our5-4 victory against Midhurst & Easebourne earlierin the month, which earned a recent first-team callup. Then went on to score the Robins equaliser twominutes from time at home to Upper Beeding.

Dave STOREY, Age 32, Forward. Prolific front-mansigned from West Sussex League outfit, Boxgrovein February 2014, and leading marksman in2013/14 that helped propel the Robins back intothe County League. Strong player to have hold theball up when building an attack – Dave scored theopening goal in last season’s Division 3 Cup victoryagainst Sidlesham. Eight goals in all competitionsthis season from 13 appearances.

Marco GIAMBELARDINI, Age 26, Forward. Argua-bly the most skillful in the squad, Marco’s trickeryhas out foxed many a defender. The former Selseyman can be very difficult to stop when in full-flowwith the ball at his feet. Great vision and range ofpassing and one of the biggest assist contributorsat the club. Almost ever-present this season andjoint top-scorer with nine goals.

Neil REDMAN, Age 40, Left Back/ Forward. Long-serving clubman, assistant player/ manager whohas been utilised both at left-back and his moreaccustomed striker role this season. A classic ‘Foxin the Box’ finisher – none more so than at Montpe-lier Villa, as Neilsa scored the decisive goal in acaptivating 5-4 win. Alongside Head Coach, Gra-hame Vick, Neilsa forms a valued part of the play-ing management team.

JAMES RUSTON, Age 17, Left Midfield/ Forward.Dual signed with US Portsmouth u18’s and im-pressed playing with freedom on his natural left-side, and step-up to the men’s game in his stride.

Matt DOCHERTY, Age 27, Defence/ Midfield. Toughtackling former Moneyfields and Chichester Citycentral midfielder, with a good footballing brain,comfortable in possession, and is equally at homeat centre half. A member of our West Sussex Pre-mier Division championship winning side in2013/14, and scorer of a fantastic third goal for theRobins in last season’s Division 3 Cup Final.

GRAEME DOWDEN, Age 27, Left Midfield. Enjoyinghis second spell at Walton Lane following a switchto Chichester City last season, the former HaylingUnited man was a central figure to our double-win-ning side of 2009/10, and West Sussex PremierDivision winner in 2013/14. Thirteen appearancessince his return has seen five goals – including bothin our recent win at Billingshurst, ending their eightmatch unbeaten run.

Alex BARNES, Age 22, Left/ Right Midfield. Paceyand skillful former Sidlesham winger, made an in-stant impact for the Robins after signing last sea-son, and is currently joint top-goal scorer with ninegoals from 16 appearances.

Louis BELL – Age 27, Midfield. Much travelled, tena-cious midfielder, started out in Portsmouth’s Youthteam; featured in Weymouth’s Conference side in2006/07, also spells at Newport IOW, Gosport Bor-ough, Worthing, Blackfield & Langley, AFC Portch-ester and Horndean. Louis popped up with thewinner in our 1-0 second round win against Roffey.

James WILSON (c), Age 27. Midfield. Cultured cen-tral midfielder who signed at the start of the2012/13 season, and previously with United Servic-es Portsmouth. Made an instant impact, finishingthe campaign with the Players Player Award. Greatrange of passing with a fierce shot and useful indead-ball situations. Captained the club to theirthird Division 3 Cup victory last season and alsopart of West Sussex Premier Division winning teamin 2013/14.

Nick EDGINGTON – Age 35, Right Midfield. Likemanager Andy Probee, Nick has a long associationto the club. Deployed on the right side of midfieldthis season, but natural height also an asset incentral defensive or striking roles. Previously Hay-ling United’s top goal scorer during their time in theWessex League. Scorer of our second goal in lastyear’s final, and found the net on three occasionsthis season, although ruled out for a number ofweeks through injury.

THE AWAY ENDCLUB HISTORY

Tod Brennan (Midfield) - hard working, gritty northern-er. Great in the tackle but a fabulous left foot too.Loves a drive into the box the opportunity arises.

Karl Gumbrell (Midfield) - box to box player with bothenergy and skill aplenty. Keeps the ball moving andcomposed in the most heated of situations.

Chris Grant (Midfield) - great feet to both beat a manand pick a pass, also battles and works his socks off.

Sam Terry (Forward) - Pacey, twinkle toes winger. Canamaze and infuriate in equal measures! On his dayunplayable though.

Nick Boutal (Forward) - Great feet for a tall guy. Bagsof skill and another who on his day can give a full backnightmares. Top scorer too.

George Hatton (Forward) - Joined us a couple ofmonths into the season and slotted straight in. Anoth-er one with great feet who can really strike a sweet ball.

Liam Downes (Forward) - Hard working, combative"old fashioned" centre forward. Good both in the airand on the deck. Leads the line and brings others intoplay.

Adam Byrom (Goalkeeper) - fantastic shot stopperand one who commands his area. A great kick on him.

James McKemey (Goalkeeper) - Dependable all roundkeeper; shot stopping, aerial ability, talking, the lot.Consistently solid and one of the leaders of the team.

Matt Harrison (Defender) - all action full back, strongin the tackle but loves to get forward. Has developedan excellent partnership with Nick Boutal down theright flank.

Simon Whitney (Defender) - Hard working, attackminded and versatile full back. Equally adept at Cen-tre Back when required.

Stu Kempton (Defender) - County League veteran.Killer Kempo has been on the circuit for years, yet stillplays the game like a 20 year old. Good in the air,reliable and reads the game well, also adds vital expe-rience.

Shaun Jepson (Defender) - a no nonsense big andcommanding centre back. Bags of enthusiasm and nolittle talent. Another one of the team's leaders.

Aaron Blackwell (Defender) - Cultured, composed andcomfortable on the ball, two footed and another onethat loves to get forward.

Nic Eadie (Defender) - Club stalwart, veteran and leg-end. My be knocking on but there's no substitute forexperience. Reads the game really well and invariablywins the ball.

Dave MacNeill (Midfield) - Club captain with greatbattling qualities, a never say die attitude and an eyefor goal. Whether it's a tackle on the ground or aheader in the air, Dave generally wins them all. not tomention excellent at keeping the ball moving.
