One River Gallery presents “Botanic Revival” a two-person exhibition of work by Amy Lincoln and J J Manford
Exhibition Dates: May 9 – June 7
Opening Reception: Saturday, May 9, 7-9pm One River Gallery is in full-bloom with its newest exhibition of paintings of the twisted, magical flora by artists Amy Lincoln and JJ Manford. ‘Still lifes’ here are anything but ’still’- with a visual energy and radiance both artists construct a mystical realm where plants, flowers, gardens and landscapes are revived. “Botanic Revival” begins with works by Amy Lincoln that explore the complexities of specific plant species through a colorful, patterned approach. JJ Manford seeks to create an animated visual energy and undecipherable mystery in his glassy-jade-like palm fronds and flowers. Manford reveals the vulnerability of his animals, trees and landscapes by exposing their mystical side with glowing and vivid hues in abstracted forms. “Botanic Revival: Amy Lincoln & JJ Manford” will be presented at One River Gallery May 9th through June 7th with an opening reception on Saturday, May 9th 7-9pm. One River Gallery, located at 49 N. Dean Street in Englewood, NJ, is dedicated to presenting innovative exhibitions by emerging and mid-career contemporary artists to residents of northern New Jersey and the tri-state area. The space is also home to One River School, a new direction in creative education. Focused on the importance of lifelong creative learning, One River School offers a wide variety of art classes and programs for all ages. Together, One River Gallery and School will introduce leading artists and curators to the region’s art enthusiasts, providing valuable insight to - and education about - contemporary art.
