Relationship with Government

High Level Consultative Council (HLCC): Chaired by His Excellency the President, this body meets twice a year to discuss issues of mutual benefit to both private sector and government. Resolves any concerns that may be tabled by business.

Sectoral LCC: Chaired by the Minister, this forum addresses private sector problems at a lower level than the HLCC.

Relationship with Government - continued

National Business Conference: A biennial forum which brings together private sector, government and civil society to discuss the challenges faced by the economy. Resolutions reached at this conference are acted upon by government through pronouncements in the National Budget.

Rural Development Council; An important body that looks at how developments can be efficiently made in the rural areas to amongst others curb the rural urban migration, attract investment to the rural areas, in which BOCCIM is an important member.

Business Councils: These represent private sector at the local level. With 15 of these in the major centres in the country, BOCCIM is able to keep its finger on the mood and pulse of the economy enabling necessary interventions to be made.
