Our learners are now kitted for the 2012 school year. To all Bottomup friends & supporters: The holiday season is here and schools have officially closed. Bottomup is truly thankful for the amazing year we have had thanks to all our Bottomup ‘friends’ (in whatever capacity you may have supported this year). Where there may have been challenges, they were overcome with the kindness, generosity, time and other resources which you have freely given. Bottomup wishes you a joyous festive season. We look forward to even greater things next year and hope you will continue to be a part of making a difference at our partner schools. Bottomup ‘Tweets’ On December 5th Bottomup hosted a Junior Careers day for the Grade 6 & 7 learners. Learners received the opportunity to hear from the fire department, the local SPCA vet, a technology business owner, a nurse and many other interesting people in all all kinds of careers. Thank you to all those who volunteered time to make it possible. Bottomup recently (December) received an award from the 567Cape Talk & Dischem Cares , the R10 000 received will go toward equipment for Physical Education and Chess at Parkwood Primary School in 2012. Unati Fabe (top SA body builder recently on Top Billing and SABC’s Expresso) got involved to share some words of encouragement about having a goal and sticking to it. His own story of achieving despite immense struggle and poverty is an inspiration to us.
