1. INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME Congratulations on the purchase of your Boulder Engines Repower System (“BERS”) or BERS powered golf car (“BERS Vehicle”). Boulder Engines takes great pride in offering you a powertrain engineered and manufactured to the highest performance and quality standards. You will enjoy superior levels of performance, reliability, comfort, and most importantly, safety.

This manual is provided to help familiarize and instruct the owners and operators of BERS Vehicle with the operating characteristics, safety considerations and features of a BERS Vehicle. The manual also covers information on the care and maintenance of your BERS Vehicle.

This BERS Owner’s Manual is a supplement to the Club Car Precedent Golf Car Owner’s Manual for the base golf car (the vehicle into which the BERS is installed). Review, understand and follow the more stringent or restrictive guidance either of this BERS Owner’s Manual or the Club Car Precedent Golf Car Owner’s Manual. REVIEW AND FOLLOW BOTH MANUALS. Club Car manuals are available on the Club Car website. Advanced Datum will provide a Club Car manual if you are unable to locate one yourself.

2. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

WARNING: Lack of familiarity and improper understanding can result in unsafe operation.

• This BERS Owner’s Manual is a supplement to the Club Car Precedent Golf Car Owner’s Manual for the base golf car (the vehicle into which the BERS is installed). Review, understand and follow the more stringent or restrictive guidance either of this BERS Owner’s Manual or the Club Car Precedent Golf Car Owner’s Manual. REVIEW AND FOLLOW BOTH MANUALS.

• Follow the procedures exactly as stated in this manual, and heed all DANGER, WARNING, and CAUTION statements in this manual as well as those on the vehicle and battery.

• Never allow anyone under the age of 16 or lacking a driver’s license to operate this BERS Vehicle.

• If renting or loaning the vehicle, make sure the driver is familiar with all controls and operating procedures before allowing the vehicle to be driven.

• Never consume alcohol or drugs before or while operating this BERS Vehicle. • Always travel at a speed which is proper for the terrain, vehicle condition, visibility and

operating conditions and your experience. • Never attempt wheelies, jumps, skids, drifts or other stunts.

DANGER: ROLLOVER CAN RESULT IN SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH

• NEVER ATTEMPT TURNING AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 6 MPH (ROUGHLY, A BRISK WALK). HIGH SPEED TURNING CAN RESULT IN ROLLOVER AND SUBSEQUENT INJURY OR DEATH.

• ENSURE THE STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT WHEEL ORIENTATION IS STRAIGHT BEFORE APPLYING FULL THROTTLE.

DANGER: UNAUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS CAN RESULT IN FIRE, INCONSISTENT VEHICLE CHARACTERISTICS OR INCREASED ACCIDENT AND ROLLOVER RISK FROM EXCESS SPEED.

• Do not modify the engine, drive, mechanical or electrical systems of your BERS Vehicle. Never install after-market parts or accessories intended to increase the speed or power of your BERS Vehicle.

• Modifications may also void the BERS emissions and/or limited warranty.

WARNING: Ensure the BERS Vehicle is properly adjusted for operating conditions.

• BERS Vehicle operation above 3000 feet elevation may require a high-altitude kit. Please contact your dealer.

• Maintain chassis parameters including tire pressure, consumables (bushing, gasket, shocks) according to the Club Car golf car vehicle.

• BERS Vehicles must be checked by a qualified service provider if it has been involved in an accident or runs poorly.

WARNING: Aggressive and improper operation can cause accidents.

• Follow all operating instructions provided in the Club Car Precedent Owner’s Manual. • Always follow proper procedures for going downhill and for braking on hills as described

in the Club Car Precedent Owner’s Manual for the base vehicle. Check the terrain carefully before you start down any hill. Always travel in the direction of the decline.

• Always use proper procedures if you stall or roll backwards when climbing a hill. If you stall or roll backwards, follow the special procedure for braking described in this manual. Dismount on the uphill side, or to either side if pointed straight uphill.

• Always check for obstacles before operating in a new area. Never attempt to operate over obstacles such as large rocks or fallen trees.

• Always maintain traction and avoid skidding or sliding. On slippery surfaces, such as ice, go slowly and be very cautious in order to reduce the chance of skidding or sliding out of control.
