Terima kasih.

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin

memberi kesan kepada industri. Secara keseluruhannya, Kumpulan kita mencatatkan keuntungan sebelum cukai terkumpul sebanyak RM479 juta, iaitu satu peningkatan melebihi dua kali ganda berbanding tahun sebelumnya.

to overcome these challenges and continue to unlock value for our shareholders.

Looking back on the past year, I am pleased to share that most of our Divisions performed satisfactorily, with solid results for the nine-month period of FY2016. The Property and Plantation Divisions were key contributors despite external factors impacting the industry. As a whole, our Group registered a cumulative profit before tax of RM479 million, signifying more than a two-fold increase compared with the previous year.

On this note, we declared a third interim dividend of 5 sen per share in the third quarter of the financial year. The Group has in total declared dividends of 14 sen per share to date. These figures certainly speak for themselves and are a clear testament to the Group’s fortitude.

Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport

Kinabalu to buy souvenirs at the Filipino night market. We were all excited as we bargained for beautiful pearl bracelets to bring home as souvenirs. Some also bought dried anchovies and dried salted fish as the prices were very cheap.

Day 3

On our last day in Sabah, we started the day by visiting Gaya Street Sunday Market. The place was packed with tourists like us trying to bargain for cheaper prices for Sabah’s local products.

After checking out of our hotel at 12:00 pm, we had our lunch at a local Nasi Padang restaurant in Jesselton Point. Then, we continued on a tour around Kota Kinabalu. On our way to the Sabah Museum, we

passed Kota Kinabalu City Mosque and stopped at Menara Tun Mustapha to take pictures. We also visited Sabah Heritage Village and Sabah Museum where we learnt about Sabah’s indigenous ethnic tribes and their cultures. With a heavy heart, we then headed to the airport and said goodbye to Kota Kinabalu. We will surely miss Sabah’s beautiful attractions and mouth-watering delicacies, but most of all we will treasure the memories we shared during our trip.

Corporate Planning and Group Legal & Compliance departments’ trip to Kota Kinabalu

Corporate Planning and Group Legal & Compliance departments

of Boustead Holdings Berhad (Boustead) recently took some time off for a company retreat to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah from 21 to 23 October 2016, where we stayed at Le Meridien Hotel Kota Kinabalu. Apart from boosting team spirit and strengthening bonds between employees, our key teambuilding objective was to reward our staff with a fun-filled trip in appreciation for their hard work.

Day 1

We arrived safely at Kota Kinabalu International Airport at 11:30 am where we were warmly welcomed by our local tour guide, Mr. Kennedy. Our journey began with a visit to Sabah’s State Mosque, where we performed our Friday prayers. We then adjourned for lunch at Restoran Sri Melaka and later headed to Fung Seng Seafood Suppliers, where we purchased frozen seafood at very reasonable prices. Afterwards, we made our way to University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) for an educational visit to the UMS Marine and Aquarium Museum. Boustead recently made

a contribution to the museum as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the Borneo Marine Research Institute team, which guided and briefed us on the collection of live coral, fish, turtles and other sea creatures in large display tanks. Later, we headed to Kg. Nelayan Restaurant for dinner where we also had a surprise birthday celebration for the ‘October babies’. During dinner, we enjoyed a Cultural Dance Performance showcasing the largest indigenous ethnic groups in Sabah.

Day 2

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we departed the hotel early to start our day trip to Kundasang. Our trip kicked off with a visit to The Upside Down House of Borneo. There, we were able to view a traditional Sabah kampung house from a new perspective - upside down. We then continued our journey, stopping at the small village of Pekan Nabalu. This regular tourist stop has a scenic lookout point for the majestic Mount Kinabalu, where we were all amazed by the view. We then proceeded to our next destination, the Sabah Tea Garden, where we were taken for a tour of the factory.

We had lunch at Kinabalu Pine Resort before heading off to Desa Cattle Dairy Farm, enjoying the cool weather along the way. At the farm, visitors can choose to feed the calves or just enjoy the scenery and take photos. We also took the chance to buy and sample their dairy products such as milk and yoghurt. Departing Desa Cattle Dairy Farm, we headed to Kundasang War Memorial Park to visit its beautiful gardens. Next, we went to Pekan Kundasang for some last minute shopping for fresh local fruits and snacks before the day came to an end. We had our dinner at Restoran Masakan Sedap, and true to its name, the food there was delicious with various seafood dishes. We then took the opportunity on our last night in Kota

Kempen derma darah dapat sambutan menggalakkan

A total of 15 employees from the Group Secretarial Department

visited Kota Kinabalu (KK), Sabah from 14 to 16 October 2016 for a teambuilding session. The excitement of the trip began at 5:30 am when the team assembled at Menara Boustead to board the coach to KLIA. Our flight departed at 8:30 am and we were cordially welcomed at the KK International Airport by our guide, Ms. Roxanne Barintang (Roxy).

Day 3

We checked-out of the hotel right after breakfast and boarded our bus for a 2-hour road trip to Kundasang. Midway, we stopped at Pekan Nabalu to shop for souvenirs and take in the view of Mount Kinabalu and the landscape. We continued our journey and reached Desa Cattle Dairy Farm at about noon. Located at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu, the real attraction here is the cattle farm and the Friesians cows. After our lunch at Kinabalu Pine Resort, we made our way back to KK International Airport to catch the flight back to Kuala Lumpur. While waiting for our flight at the airport, we organised a ballot for Most Valuable Player and Mr./Ms. Congeniality, which was won by Juniza Azizan and Nor Imar Bahaldin, respectively. Overall, the teambuilding trip was a truly unforgettable affair as it provided the team members a wonderful avenue to bond together in a warm and fun atmosphere. It certainly ended on a high note as the Group Secretarial Department left KK with not only lasting memories but also with renewed energy.

Day 1

After a scrumptious lunch, we embarked on our first activity of the trip, the KK City Tour. We headed to Tanjung Lipat to see the bay and stopped over at Tun Datu Mustapha Tower, the tallest building in KK. We then made a quick stop at Fung Seng Seafood Supplier, Inanam, before checking-in at Le Meridien Hotel. That night, we had our dinner at the Kampung Nelayan Floating Seafood Market Restaurant. This is the only restaurant in KK to present a nightly cultural dance performance, and some of the team members even took the stage to participate. After dinner, we went back to town for a round of karaoke at Centre Point Shopping Mall.

Day 2

We took a 15-minute speedboat ride to the small islands which form part of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park on the west coast of Sabah. We set off from the Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal to Sapi Island for snorkelling and beach activities. After lunch, we moved to the popular Manukan Island for more snorkelling. We then returned to the hotel at 4:00 pm to rest. On our last night in KK, after a seafood dinner at Sri Tanjung Seafood Restaurant, we visited the nearby Pasar Malam Kampong Air. The team shopped for souvenirs such as pearl necklaces and bracelets to bring back as gifts for friends and relatives.

Boustead Plantations Berhad (Boustead Plantations) once again participated in ‘Back to School Programme 2016’, a corporate

social responsibility initiative for the second consecutive year. Under this programme, Boustead Plantations has contributed

a total of RM80,000 in two Parliamentary areas (RM40,000 each), namely Kanowit (Sarawak) and Beluran (Sabah) where several of the Boustead Plantations’ estates are located.

On 9 December 2016, Boustead Plantations has collaborated with the Member of Parliament of Kanowit, YB Datuk Aaron Ago Anak Dagang in making this noble initiative a success. A total of 200 students comprising children of the land owners and estate workers within the Kanowit Parliamentary area received financial aid of RM200 each. The same programme was also successfully organised for Beluran Parliamentary area on 18 December 2016.

Boustead Plantations hopes that this contribution will help lighten the burden of parents in preparing their children for the new academic year to purchase essential school items such as school uniforms, bags, shoes, and stationeries.

Camaraderie at ‘Gotong-royong Perdana’ 2016

It was a day of camaraderie when 37 volunteers from

the Accountant Development Programme (ADP), Certified Internal Auditor Programme (CIA), Skim Latihan 1 Malaysia (SL1M) as well as other Bousteadians from the Group Internal Audit, the Group Corporate Communications and Administration and the Group Human Capital Management departments took part in the ‘Gotong-royong Perdana Programme’ on 22 October 2016. Together with the teachers from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh, Selangor, the volunteers provided a fresh look to the school’s appearance with

the contribution of paints from Boustead Sissons Paints Sdn. Bhd. (Boustead Sissons Paints) and painting tools from Boustead Buildings Materials Sdn. Bhd. (Boustead Buildings Materials).

The activity proved not only to be fun, but also an occasion where the volunteers’ talent and passion for voluntary work were discovered. For the participants from the ADP, CIA and SL1M programmes especially, the programme gave them the experience of organising events and honing their leadership skills. Our special thanks to the volunteers, as well as to Boustead Sissons Paints and Boustead Building Materials for their support and contributions, without which the event would not be possible. A word of thanks also goes to The Royale Bintang Kuala Lumpur and The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur hotels for their t-shirt and mineral water contributions to the volunteers.
