Na onal Day of Ac on Against Bullying and Violence Last Friday was the Na onal Day of Ac on against Bullying and Violence. Our SMILE leaders led the way all day delivering the "Let's Take a Stand. Bullying No Way!" message during lessons with all classes from Kinder to Year 10. We kicked off the day with a whole school photo with students proudly saying "Bullying No Way!' Students were all given the day of ac on wristbands and were talking about ways to make sure our school is a safe and happy place for everyone. A special thankyou goes out to all of the SMILE mentors in Years 10, 11 and 12 for their prepara on in designing quality lessons for the whole school and showing leadership in this very important cause. Principal’s Message Such a busy and produc ve Term 1 has also meant that me has passed very swi ly. We are already planning
our tradi onal end of tem ac vi es such as the Term Assembly, Gold Day and of course the very popular Easter Hat Parade. All these things are wonderful opportuni es for parents, carers and community members to be involved with our school. Please check this newsle er for mes and details. It has been a terrific start to the year and it would be great to share the end of term with all. This Thursday evening is the next opportunity to support the Bowraville Central School P&C. We shall meet in T Block (near the canteen) from 6:00pm so that we can be close to the ac on of the School Social, also happening on Thursday evening in the school gymnasium. It would be great to have welcome your involvement in this way. I shall be revisi ng the 2015‐17 School Plan as part of my report to the P&C. Looking ahead to next term, we are very excited to be hos ng Dr Chris Sarra here in Bowraville! Chris’s fabulous work as the Principal of Cherbourg school in Queensland and then the founder of the now na onally significant Stronger Smarter Ins tute is incredibly inspiring. Following a community presenta on on Sunday 19th April at the Bowraville Theatre, Chris will lead a whole day of learning for staff from across the region on Monday 20th April, and then on Tuesday he will spend his final few hours with us working with students. The theme of Chris Sarra’s visit is “High Expecta ons Rela onships”. In all things at Bowraville we a empt to have high expecta ons of ourselves, and each other. Please see the informa on in this newsle er so that you may be able to hear for yourself this wonderfully respec ul, strengths‐based message from this very significant Australian, Dr Chris Sarra.
