PAGEANT RULES AND REGULATIONS1. The pageant is open to female entrants, age 14-18 years old2. Contestants must reside in Alachua County and intends to continue to maintain residence

within the Alachua County district for at least one full year.3. Contestant must provide either a copy of her birth certificate or driver’s license as proof

of age.4. Contestant must be enrolled in high school, an accredited home school program, a high

school graduate or enrolled in college or advance education by August 31st. 5. A recent copy of report card or transcript must be provided.6. Contestant must not be married or pregnant nor have been married.7. Contestant must be of good moral character and shall possess poise, personality,

intelligence, and charm. The Pageant Director and the committee reserve the right to approve all contestants and determine without questions, their eligibility to participate in the Miss BGC of Alachua County Pageant.

8. If I am chosen as Miss BGC of Alachua County, I understand that my behavior and action at all times (not just when wearing the crown/sash) during my reign will affect my ability to continue in the role of Miss BGC of Alachua County. The Pageant Director and the committee reserves the right to revoke the title if behavior and/or actions are deemed inappropriate. If the title is revoked from the Miss BGC of Alachua County 2013, the crown and sash will be awarded to the 1st place runner-up.

9. If selected, I agree that I may not advertise, endorse or in any way infer support for any commercial product or make personal appearances as representative of Miss BGC of Alachua County without written consent of Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County President.

10. Contestant must agree that if selected Miss BGC of Alachua County, contestant will participate in ALL Boys and Girls Club Special Events. Participation in these events is not meant to be a hardship, rather an opportunity to represent the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County.

11. All contestants are required to attend all the workshops and activities plan for the pageant.

12. With a 24 hour advance notice, acceptable excuse to missing a required event are School Sponsored Events Funeral Illness

13. All applicants are required to sell a minimum of $150 in business advertisement for the pageant program. The deadline is November 1st, 2013. Ad pricing is as fallow:

Full page- $150 ½ page-$75 ¼ page-50 Business card Size- $25

14. By signing this application and Contract and Submitting it to the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County, the contestant represents and agrees that all facts and representations contained in this application and its attachments are true and accurate. The contestant agrees to abide by all rules and regulation of the Miss BGC of Alachua County Pageant described in this application.

15. The Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County Pageant Committee deserve the rights to change/amend the rules of the Miss BGC of Alachua County at any time and without prior notification.

16. Awards will be as follows: Miss BGC of Alachua County: $500 1st runner up: $ 300 2nd runner up: $200

During the pageant, you will be representing Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County. You are expected to conduct yourself properly with decorum and respect for yourself, your fellow competitors, and Boys and Girls of Alachua County Staff. There are some of the thing we will be looking during all pageant events:

1. No foul, abusive, profane or indecent language or reference will be tolerate toward other fellow contestant, Boys and Girls Club members and staff.

2. You must always dress appropriately and in accordance with the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County pageant committee’s request of proper clothing in accordance to the event attending.

3. All contestants are expected to abide by a code of honor, and will not commit any dishonorable act, nor will they permit their fellow competitors to engage in any dishonorable behavior, to themselves, fellow competitors, and Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County staff. Therefore, if you are aware of any conduct witch would constitute of a serious offense by any contestant, you are obligated to report it immediately to the pageant committee.

4. No alcohol, tobacco or drug will be tolerated or permitted during all pageant events.

In addition, the judges will also be looking for a contestant who will provide a bridge between youth and the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County community; be a positive role model for Alachua County’s youth; represent the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County in a positive manner; be an ambassador for the Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County and possess a high level of communications and public speaking capabilities.

Points and score sheets are for judges assessment only. Final selection is the judge’s decision. The Boys and Girls Club of Alachua County Pageant Director reserves the right to change the foregoing terms and conditions at any time as may deemed expedient.
