The BP/AFS Global Citizens of Tomorrow intercultural
scholarship program will provide eligible high school
students with full scholarships to study abroad on the
AFS academic year international exchange program.
Students will attend high school in Brazil, China, India,
Malaysia, or South Africa, while living with a volunteer
host family and becoming a member of the local
community abroad.
The program will recruit a diverse student population of
high academic potential, with demonstrated �nancial
need and leadership promise. Students with an interest in
the �elds of mathematics, engineering or science are
especially encouraged to apply, but applications are
invited from students with other academic interests, as
well.
The goal of the program is to make intercultural
education available to students who might not otherwise
be able to a�ord the valuable career preparation that
overseas study provides. AFS exchange students develop
language and intercultural skills needed to succeed in
today’s global marketplace.
Twenty-�ve full scholarships were awarded to American
high school students during the �rst year of the
scholarship program for study abroad in Brazil, China, India,
Malaysia, or South Africa. Twenty- �ve scholarships to
study abroad will be awarded again this year.

6. Age Range Be between 15 - 18 years old (graduates and graduating seniors are not eligible)
