Motivations for Registration

What motivated them to register?

Unique  approach  to  train  [the]  brain

I  thought  it  would  be  a  fun  exercise  and  helps  to  improve  and  develop  my  brain

I  believe  cogni=ve  and  emo=onal  health  is  just  as  important  as  physical  well  being.  I've  used  other  free  services  on  line  for  similar  training,  but  am  really  glad  to  see  that  my  employer  has  provided  access  to  this  type  of  training

Data collected between December 2010 and December 31st 2012, n= 1,975 ( CompanyABC Associates who answered an optional Satisfaction survey)

Curious  about  how  it  could  help  me  deal  with  stress.

I  like  mental  games  and  am  very  curious  about  the  whole  area  of  mental  plas=city.

It’s  a  good  stress  reliever  and  promotes  posi=ve  thinking  and  develops  mental  ap=tude

I  like  to  improve  my  brain  func=on  and  challenge  myself.

I  love  brain  games,  it  is  a  nice  way  to  stay  ac=ve.

Sharpen  my  mind  while  earning  points  toward  health  incen=ves.

Become  more  produc=ve,  beGer  employee,  family  and  friend

What they said ….

Very  helpful  and  makes  me  think  more  posi=vely.

It  gives  me  an  opportunity  to  focus  and  train  for  posi=vity

I  think  it  is  good.  Nice  way  to  break  into  something  comfortable  and  a  liGle  distrac=ng  before  diving  back  into  work  with  a  clearer  head.

The  gentle  reminders  to  re-‐engage  have  been  helpful  in  a  busy  life.

The  assessment  was  very  enlightening,  it  helped  me    understand  my  personality  and  how  it  affects  my  stress.    I  enjoyed  the  games  that  involved  concentra=on  as  I  tend  to  get  distracted  easily.

The  pre-‐selected  games  are  great.  I  get  to  choose  which  area  I  think  I  need  help  in.   It  gives  genuine  informa=on  from

my  results  and  also  helps  me  to  improve  in  many  areas.

It  helps  to  improve  your  posi=ve  thoughts  and  keep  your  brain  focused  on  beGer  things

It  was  nice  to  learn  about  how  my  brain  works,  and  they  are  a  fun  way  to  relieve  stress

Insight  into  what  I  am  focused  on  and  how  to  improve  the  items  I  need  help  with

It  has  been  very  helpful.  It  has  forced  me  to  take  a  break  from  work  and  focus  on  something  else.

Helpful  and  entertaining,  the  site  is  easy  to  navigate.

I  REALLY  THINK  IT  SO  AWESOME  and  easy  to  navigate  and  use.

The below set of questions is presented in an optional web survey 30 days after the first MyBrain Assessment is completed (in the ‘30 day survey’).

Glossary MyBrainSolutions: a scientifically-developed web-based program designed to optimize whole brain functioning through training exercises (games), Insights (videos) and tools to track success and real-world goal improvement. MyBrain Assessment: a 30 minute scientifically validated assessment of brain function that is completed online. Brain Scores: A user’s performance on the MyBrain Assessment is ranked against thousands of age, gender and education matched peers who have also completed the assessment. Scores for the user are calculated in each brain process of Emotion, Thinking, Feeling and Self Regulation. The scores are out of a scale of 1-10. This range scales the range of performance in a healthy population of the users peers with 5.5 representing the average point. Emotion: Emotion is the process of you rapidly and nonconsciously picking up cues of danger and reward and reflexively reacting to them. The Emotion cues you rely on every day for nonverbal communication is the facial expression and body language of others. Processing Emotion cues is the brain basis of your intuition. Scores of 1-5.5 reflect a style of concretely detailed - you tend to focus on words than on face-body language emotion cues. Scores of 6-10 reflect a style of Nonconsciously Intuitive - you can effectively pick up multiple face-body cues simultaneously. Thinking: Thinking includes your focus, memory and planning. It is a conscious process in which you think in words. Scores of 1-5.5 in Thinking reflects a style of Novelty Engaged - you tend to be engaged by novelty and are likely to be involved in multiple tasks at one time. Scores 6 - 10: reflect a style of Logically Focused - you tend to focus on the most relevant information in a step-by-step manner. Feeling: Feelings are the conscious experience of your emotions by becoming aware of an increase in your heart beat or your breathing rate. Scores 1 - 5.5: You are Stress Sensitive - you tend to tune into Feelings of stress. Scores 6 - 10: You have Stress Mastery - you have the capacity to balance stress with positive Feelings. Self Regulation: Self Regulation describes how you manage your Emotions, Thinking and Feelings to best achieve Your Goals. Scores 1 - 5.5: You are Risk Oriented - you tend to be preoccupied by the risks and problems in situations. Scores 6 - 10: You are Positively Oriented - you tend to be focused on solutions and are optimistic, which helps you effectively build upon ‘what works’. Brain Profile: Your Brain Profile reflects the unique way you combine the way your process information across the 4 brain processes of Emotion, Thinking, Feeling and Self Regulation. Each profile’s descriptive name captures what is distinctive about your brain style for how you approach, interact and adapt to the changing world around you.

Glossary Brain Exercise: A brain exercise is an online interactive training program in either Emotion, Thinking, Feeling or Self Regulation. They are deigned to train and improve the brain processes of Emotion, Thinking, Feeling and Self Regulation. Although, because the brain is so highly interconnected, training one has #ow on effects to them all. Brain Insight: A brain insight is an online video program in a brain-based concept like effective communication, brain-based diet or goal setting. Most Insights are less than 10 minutes in length and provide information and insights the user can use in working towards their personal goals. Brain Points: Brain Points are awarded for activities completed on MyBrainSolutions. They are also a guide for your regular training. We recommend that you try to achieve 500 brain points each training session 2-3 times/week. Registered User: A registered user is an individual who has registered for a MyBrainSolutions account. Active User: A registered user is an Active user in a report if they have logged in at least once during that reporting month.
