How do you feel about being named a finalist in the 2010 Tech Awards?

We’re thrilled to be named a finalist by MITX in the Rich Media category. While Brainshark is already an established leader in the space, it’s exciting for the new myBrainshark.com initiative to receive such recognition early in its life cycle.

If you could describe your innovation in one succinct sentence, how would you describe yourself?

MyBrainshark is an online service that enables anyone to easily create, narrate, share and track on-demand, multi-media presentations for free.

How was your company founded, and what inspired its creation? Since 2000, Brainshark has provided an enterprise-class SaaS application. In an effort to gain even greater awareness for the Brainshark brand--and to provide a solution ideally suited for individuals, small businesses and training providers--we leveraged key aspects of our highly successful platform and created a new and unique offering in myBrainshark, delivered via a social site. This was an innovative strategy that harnessed trends of user-generated content, social marketing and elearning. It empowers those in and out of the elearning field to promote and even sell their expertise or story.

What makes your company different from other companies in your market space?

There is no hosted service that offers as much functionality for the creation and tracking of multi-media content as myBrainshark. Our key points of differentiation are: overall ease-of-use; ability to add audio to content simply by phone or computer microphone; PowerPoint animations support so that users can sync their slide animations with their narration; ability to enrich presentations with assets like video, survey questions, MP3 audio, attachments, guest books and passwords; analytics that allow users to obtain detailed viewing data; and the opportunity to monetize their content through our e-commerce engine.

What has been your company's greatest accomplishment in the past year?

MyBrainshark’s biggest accomplishment in the past year was launching such a unique solution and within just a few months gaining thousands of users and titles on the site not to mention the praise of so many respected publications such as BNET, PC Worlds, New York Times, ReadWriteWeb, About.com, Selling Power and more.
