BRAINWIZ

Brainwiz is a students' organization, which works to enhance quizzingand public speaking skills among the youth. Based in Delhi, Brainwizhas been very successful in its endeavors for enhancing extra-curricularskills among students through various quiz competitions, tie-ups andworkshops, making it synonymous with the events of various schoolsand colleges in Delhi-NCR. Brainwiz successfully hosted its first everModel UN conference, in October, 2011 and another session inOctober,2012; leaving a lasting impression of Brainwiz Model UNConference as one of the best MUN conferences in the Indian MUNcircuit.

BRAINWIZ MUN TRAINING PROGRAM

Brainwiz is rolling out its school and college model, wherein we will beconducting workshops to impart skills to students in areas of quizzingand MUNing. We have on-board the country's best quizzers, ExecutiveBoard members , Advisors, Trainers and OC members, some of thembeing International MUNers, who have travelled across the globe,excelling and moderating such conferences at prestigious institutionsacross the world. We guarantee that Brainwiz is the perfectorganization for any school/college wanting to conduct or prepare itsstudents for a Model UN Conference.

• This module aims at developing a basicunderstanding about the UN and theconcept of MUNs among the students

• This is a 1 - 1.5 hour Session

• This module is “Free of Cost”

Introduction to the UN and Model UN

• Basic introduction to the working andstructure of the United Nations

• Relevance and history of the UnitedNations

• Explanation of the concept of a ModelUN


MODULE 2

MUN Rules of Procedure, Resolution Process, Research

• Explanation of the rules of procedure

• Introduction to the resolution formationprocess (Procedure)

• Tips on how to write a resolution

• Basic knowledge of the essentiality offoreign policy


MODULE 3

1 day long mock MUN Session

• Putting what the trainees have learnt intheory into practice, by the means of amock session

• Practical insight for the trainees as to theflow of debate and the rules of procedure


MODULE 4

Unconventional and Crisis Committees

• Concept of and tips for unconventionalcommittees (eg. Cabinets)

• Procedure for such committees

• Crisis Committees and approach to suchcommittees

• Putting theory into practice by a crisissession

Important Documents used at Model Uns & Agenda specific training

• Agenda specific training shall only bedone on demand

• Teaching the fundamentals ofinternational law as well as theirapplications

SESSION REQUIREMENTS

WHY MUN TRAINING?

Looking at the growing popularity of the concept of Model UNs and theimportance it holds in developing the overall psyche of an individual, itbecomes essential to propagate a correct and value-based approachtowards the same. In order to excel in Model UNs, understand itsmeaningfulness and to learn from what is has to offer, a proper andcomprehensive training program is a necessary pre-requisite. Theconcept of MUNs can be complex to grab in its entirety, and hencetraining is important to understand each and every aspect of the samein a simple form from the research to the procedure, and hence excel.

WHY BRAINWIZ?

With Brainwiz comes a plethora of experience of the most respectedMUNners in the circuit. Hence, to nurture the latent talent in students,Brainwiz has devised a systematic training program consisting of 5modules, ranging from simple to hard, to provide a complete andcorrect picture of the whole concept. Each module has been workedupon by these experienced MUNners in order to provide an insight intoeach and every aspect, and it also provides an opportunity for thestudents to put what they learn into practice by a simulations of theworkings of a committee.
