Why Do I Need to Know About Transmission Fluid? Transmission fluid is designed to do three things:

1. Creates hydraulic pressure so the transmission can do what it is supposed to

do, allow the car to go forward in a number of different gear ratios, as well as

reverse.

2. Absorb and dissipate heat that develops under routine driving conditions,

heat causes friction and wear and tear on many mechanical and electronic

parts. The fluid carries the heat to the transmission cooler so that fluid can be

cooled.

3. It lubricates the mechanical parts to ensure proper performance and increase

the life of the transmission.

When transmission fluid becomes dark or discolored, it usually indicates that

the fluid is burned, and can no longer dissipate the heat the way the

manufacturer intended. As transmission fluid ages, contaminants such as

clutch material & metal debris build up & viscosity breaks down, leaving your

vehicle's transmission vulnerable to failure and expensive repairs - even from

daily wear and tear. Tired transmission fluid can also create poor performance,

performance decreases that are typically so minute, from day to day, that are

not felt by you until there is a real driveability complaint or breakdown.

Foods That Lower Cholesterol Naturally 1. Oats: replace your breakfast! The beta-glucan absorbs LDL.

Salmon & Fatty Fish: another win for Omega-3, it raises good cholesterol.

2. Nuts: walnuts, almonds and cashews are the best of the best. Use a shot

glass to measure a serving size, because these champs are still high in calories.

A serving size of 1.5 oz is a shot glass and a half.

3. Beans: just a half cup of black, kidney or pinto beans supplies about a third

of your daily fiber needs.

4. Tea: black tea has shown to lower cholesterol quickly but you probably

shouldn’t add all the sweetener (that makes it delicious!)

5. Chocolate: dark or bittersweet chocolate has been shown to increase HDLs

with its antioxidants. And it’s so good to be healthy!

The Funny Bone A New Slant on Jaws…

Two great white sharks

swimming in the ocean spied

survivors of a sunken ship.

“Follow me, son,” the father

shark said to the son shark, and

they swam to the mass of people.

“First, we swim around them a

few times with just the tips of our

fins showing.” And so, they did.

“Well done, son! Now, we swim

around them a few times with all

our fins showing,” And so, they

did.

“Now, we eat everybody.” And

so, they did.

When they were both stuffed, the

son asked, “Dad, why didn’t we

just eat them all right away? Why

did we swim around and around

them first?”

His wise father replied, “Because

they taste better after you scare

the poop out of them.”

Having a Chase Dream May Be a Good Sign?

Your heart is racing, you can feel that tension of the pursuer getting

closer, the terror of needing to push harder to escape. We’ve all been

there … in the chase dream. While struggling through a chase dream

may lead to tossing and turning and a fitful night’s sleep, it may not

be a nightmare after all.

Ian Wallace is a dream psychologist who wrote The Complete A to Z

Dictionary of Dreams. He says that chase dream may be a positive

sign. It often means that the dream is the mind’s way of encouraging

the dreamer to finally face a problem that has been hanging over the

dreamer’s head for some time. It’s the subconscious mind’s way of

trying to clear out this nagging problem that the conscious mind just

won’t deal with. I can feel better about my chase dreams (at least

when I wake up. Because when I’m having them … they are super

scary!)

5 Famous Hollywood Stars You Didn’t Know Had a Twin

1. Kiefer Sutherland: his twin sister, Rachel works behind the scenes

as a post-production supervisor on films and television filmed in

Toronto.

2. Aston Kutcher: his fraternal twin, Michael developed cerebral palsy

and cardiomyopathy as a child. He required a heart transplant as a

teenager. Before becoming a star, Ashton studied biochemical

engineering at the University of Iowa determined to find a cure for

Michael’s condition.

3. Giovanni Ribisi: his twin sister, Marissa had her own budding film

career in the 90s but then went on to marry and start a family with

singer /songwriter Beck. She also has her own fashion line, Whitley

Kros that she started in 2007.

4. Jon Heder: while most famously known for his quirky lead role in

Napoleon Dynamite, his identical twin brother Dan works in animation

and visual effects.

5. Linda Hamilton: while her identical twin sister Leslie is a nurse by

trade, she did double for her sister in 3 scenes in Terminator 2:

Judgment Day. No special effects needed there!

!!! MEDICAL ALERT !!!

A recent study has found that women who carry a little

extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.

May Client of the Month- Vernon Bontrager

Vernon Bontrager is almost a Florida cracker. He moved here from Indiana when he was 11 years old and

currently lives in North Port with his wife, Amy, and their two school-aged children.

“Outside of work, our kids run our schedule,” said Vernon. “We’re always on the go with our daughter’s

gymnastics and our son’s baseball.”

Vernon and his family enjoy the Florida lifestyle. Spending time at the beach, fishing and golfing are

favorite activities, when they can find the time.

“Amy is a 3rd grade teacher at Lamark Elementary,” Vernon said, “And I keep extremely busy with

running my own business, Bontrager Painting.”

Vernon began painting when he was 17 years old, working for other painting contractors throughout

college. He started his business in 2000 and became incorporated in 2002. His business has grown

rapidly throughout the years.

“I have 45 employees and a field advisor working with me,” Vernon said. “We take care of the painting

needs of residential, commercial, new construction and repaints in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. We

will travel outside of these counties for large commercial jobs.”

Offering the best possible service has always been a source of pride for Vernon and his staff. They are

dedicated to serving the needs of their customers each and every day.

“Offering good quality service has helped us to become one of the largest painting companies in the area,”

said Vernon.

Excellent customer service is one of the qualities that keeps Vernon coming back to 1 Stop Car and Truck

Repair year after year.

“I initially got hooked on 1 Stop Car and Truck Repair in 2002 because of the convenience of their

location,” Vernon said. “I’ve kept coming back because the 1 Stop guys are thorough, skilled and do a nice

job of getting you in and out quick, especially with oil changes.”

Vernon recommends 1 Stop to others on a frequent basis because he trusts the work done on his vehicles.

“I’m looking into having the maintenance work done at 1 Stop for all of my business service vehicles and

I’ve got my own parents coming to 1 Stop.”
