Typography

Layout

The mode of address for the layout is quite ordered and neat, it also shows that the magazine is quite formal and authoritive, it also goes with the whole vibe of the magazines.

Colour

The colour gives off that this magazine is quite happy, it also shows that it’s quite feminine. It also shows the audience that the genre is pop by the bright colours, this also appeals to the female audience. Katy Perry’s outfit with all the colourful flowers on signifies happiness and that the genre is pop as it is associated with colours and girly things such as flowers. Also the mast head ‘Billboard’ has colours in the gaps of the letters, like yellow in the D and blue in the A, this also shows the audience that the genre is pop because it has a range of colours.

The colours all match each other and clearly relates to the colours on the front page, these are all quite feminine and also clearly relate to the pop genre as they’re quite upbeat and playful colours.

The men on the images are all dressed quite smart, which will be targeted at the more educated and sophisticated audience. The colours of the images are also quite colourful and you can tell that it’s a pop genre magazine.
