Market Brandon, South Dakota Watch June 2010 VOLUME 106 The Brandon Home Market in 2010 has performed with a mixed bag of tricks this year; some entertaining and some not so entertaining. First the New Construction Building Permits is up 110 percent over last year which shows signs of buyers’ optimism of the economy and may also be a sign of pent-up demand from the low numbers in 2009. The New Construction trend has also accounted for the increase in Average Price of a Brandon Sales to raise 15 percent from $178,770 to $205,727. Closed Sales were down 17.6 percent with fewer New Listings and an increased inventory of Single Family Homes. With that; Negotiations remained consistent with last year at this time as sellers received 96.4 percent of their list price. Market Times increased slightly by 2.8 percent to 99 days.
