Seeds of Revolution:British Red Coats arrive in Boston in 1768 to enforce the heavy tax burden imposed by the Townshend Acts of 1767: tax on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea imported into the colonies

1770 – Boston Massacre – 5 Bostonians killed by British soldiers

The Stamp Act of 1765 - imposed a tax on all paper documents in the colonies

Seeds of Revolution:1773 – Boston Tea Party – act of defiance and protest against taxes by colonists in Boston; threw 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor
