  • Breaking Through the Cyber Memory Wall

    The Rise of Cube Storage

    Dear Nova-X Report Reader,

It promises to spot terrorists before they strike.

It will predict killer storms warning us when and where theyll hit.

It will revolutionize the way airplanes get built... vaccines get developed... vital information gets protected from theft and fraud.

Im talking about Big Data, a new technology trend thats sweeping the globe.

Big Data is expected to facilitate stunning even life-saving transformations in intelligence-gathering, meteorology, medicine, finance, and virtually every other field you can think of.

But only if a major problem can be solved.

That problem a critical obstacle, really, called the memory wall, has been the one digital barricade thats kept Big Data from realizing its awesome full potential.

    Until now, that is...

Today, one group, which I call the Killer Elite has found a way to break down that wall.

Theyve developed a breakthrough so revolutionary that a respected trade journal recently named it one of the 10 technologies most likely to transform the world.

And now its about to unleash a torrent of Big Data investment opportunities that could make you very rich... within a year if everything goes as I predict.

In this Nova X Special Investor Tech Report, Im going to introduce you to the Killer Elite that finally cracked the computing conundrum.

Im also going to show you how to profit handsomely from this groups innovative breakthrough, one that most investors arent even aware of yet...

But first, let me show you...

The Awesome Power Of Big DataMake no mistake: This is a monster trend that is growing by quantum

leaps, unlike anything Ive seen before.

Like Mobile phones, Big Data is the embodiment of an Unstoppable Trend.

At its heart, Big Data is a simple idea. Companies, research labs, and government agencies have oceans of raw, unstructured data that can be tapped to solve a wide range of problems.

Were talking about diverse challenges... from using DNA as a cure for disease to sorting through billions of online transactions per day in a search for patterns that would reveal fraud or embezzlement.

Today, Big Data is growing exponentially.

Big Data-related spending on hardware, software, and related services is going through the roof... projected to grow from roughly $5 billion now to more than $50 billion in 2016. Thats a compound annual growth rate of 58%.

Its not hard to see why.

    3

Big Data refers to the large arrays of data, raw and unstructured, floating around in our digital universe.

And right now, theres a mind-blowing 2.7 zettabytes of it. One zettabyte of data is the total found in 62.5 billion iPhones a stack that would go from the Earth past the moon.

Where does all this data come from?

You and me, of course calling, texting, tweeting, and gaming on mobile phones, computers, tablets... All the websites we surf, not to mention the pictures, music, videos, documents, records, reports, bills, books, and blogs we upload.

In fact, we create so much digital stuff these days that 90% of all the data that ever existed has been created in just the last two years.

Yet harnessing all that data can result in some pretty amazing things.

For example, Earth Networks SM, operator of the largest weather, lightning, and climate observation network, announced new storm warning technology that uses Big Data to transform how and when people receive warnings about impending storms, like killer tornadoes. Analysts say it will speed up warnings to threatened communities by 50%.

Another Big Data-based technology called ShotSpotter has been making an impact on fighting crime. ShotSpotter helps law enforcement agencies find the source of gunshots with pinpoint accuracy, speed, and precision.

Boeing is also using Big Data to design and improve its aircraft.

The company used a Big Data computer to model airflow over the wings of its 787. The simulation dramatically improved several of Boeings aerodynamics codes, saving the company a fortune.

Even smartphone users have felt the ripple of Big Data.

Shazam is a mobile phone application that combines music-recognition software and a database of millions of songs to help identify and organize digital music.

  • the NOva-X RepORt Investors Report

    4

You turn on Shazam when you hear a song playing, and it can identify the song name, artist, album, lyrics, discography, and more, in about 15 seconds.

But these are just a few small examples.

You see, big corporations everyone from Google to Wal-Mart are realizing that all the data out there can not only help their businesses streamline operations and discover patterns they would have never noticed before...

But also become much more profitable.

For example, NetFlix (NasdaqGS:NFLX), which was having big problems with customer retention, turned to Big Data analytics to determine the right price points for their streaming service and it worked liked gangbusters, bringing them millions of new customers and sending their stock soaring.

In fact data analytics has become a key subset for Big Data. Its one thing to have all this digital stuff, but its another thing altogether to be able to use it in a way to provides a meaningful benefit.

Today, we see three key ways Big Data being used by corporations to launch, sell, and market products and services:

    1. Warehouse The Data: That is, find ways to store the data so that its safe, but also accessible.

    2. Analyze The Data: Use it to answer old questions or raise new ones, or to find patterns that can be used for problem-solving, forecasting, or achieving the goals its customers have.

    3. Use The Data: Putting it to use via specialized application technology that transforms the data into actionable information.

Its the third one here transforming the data into actionable information that has always been the outcome most desired by corporations, yet the toughest nut to crack.

The problem has been in a word: Memory.

  • thE NOVA-X REpORt Investors Report

    5

You see, while the supercomputers that are being used to store and analyze the data have gotten faster fast enough to drive the Big Data trend memory has failed to keep pace.

And, in computing, memory is everything.

Take a look at your laptop. Theres just no way you could run a complex piece of software like a design-engineer program on it. Your laptop just doesnt have enough memory.

The program will crash. Or your laptop will simply freeze up.

The same dynamic is at work at the Big Data level, but the need for more robust memory is a whopping 1,000% greater.

Indeed, this one fact alone has always been the weak link thats kept companies from realizing the full benefits of Big Data.

Its created a kind of digital barricade that techno-types (like me) have labeled the Memory Wall.

And weve continually said: Until that wall is scaled, Big Datas biggest benefits will be held in check.

    But now...

The Memory Wall Has Not Only Been Scaled... Its Been Knocked Down For Good.

A group of companies I refer to as the Killer Elite has banded together to develop one of the most remarkable breakthroughs in computing history.

Its called the Hybrid Memory Cube a radical new technology that has once and for all torn down the Memory Wall barrier.

And will quickly redefine how supercomputers warehouse, analyze, and utilize Big Data.

It will also open up a world of huge profit opportunities for investors.

  • the NOva-X RepORt Investors Report

    6

In a minute Im going to show you the Killer Elite companies behind this advancement, including one I recommend Nova X investors jump on right away.

But first let me tell you why the Hybrid Memory Cube is such a disruptive memory computing solution.

You see, it brings a whole new level of capability to memory and performance.

The stats on this thing are just off the charts.

Were talking about a memory module that will run up to 15 times faster than most of the devices on the market today. Not only that but the Cube (as it is often called) uses up to 70% less energy and takes up about 90% less space.

Technically speaking, the Hybrid Memory Cube is a powerhouse of unique ingenuity.

Based on multiple core processing that contain several micro-processors on a single chip, it destroys the bandwidth bottleneck that occurs when conventional memory architectures get overloaded.

It also provides rocket ship-like performance between processor and memory a huge development thats breaking the Big Data juggernaut wide open.

You dont have to be a computer genius to look at the numbers on the Hybrid Memory Cube and see just how much the whole high-performance sector and its customers stand to gain.

Clearly, this new device isnt just some starry-eyed dream that will take a long time to get out of the research lab and into the marketplace either.

In fact, some members of the Killer Elite expect the Cube to start selling as soon as the end of this year.

No wonder the respected trade journal EE Times (as in electrical engineer, or double E) chose the Cube as one of the 10 technologies that are most likely to redefine the electronics industry.

    7

And you can be one of the earliest investors.

    Heres the thing...

Back in 2011, to get the ball rolling, a number of companies teamed up to form the Hybrid Memory Cube Consortium (HMCC). Usually, these companies are clawing at each others throats, trying to win market share.

Yet, to create the Hybrid Memory Cube, they joined together in an unprecedented gesture of cooperation.

And its this group that forms the Killer Elite that I talked about earlier.

A quick review of some of the Killer Elite roster underscores the fact that there are some alluring profit opportunities operating in this space.

In addition to International Business Machines (NYSE:IBM), youve got Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (KSE:005930), the South Korean heavyweight thats one of the world leaders in mobile phones, tablets, TVs, LCD panels, and semiconductors.

Other group leaders include all-star chip designer ARM Holdings plc (NasdaqGS:ARMH), turnaround candidate Hewlett Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ), and Open-Silicon Inc.

Another 75 high tech firms who intend to adopt the Cube technology have joined the consortium in what Id describe as sort of an associate member status.

Within this broad group the Killer Elite and the adopter associates are a number of great-to-own tech stocks.

But theres one Cube-related Killer Elite player that I like the best for you.

Im talking about Cray Inc. (NasdaqGS:CRAY).

Several years ago, Cray fell out of favor with Wall Street. The experts considered them out-of-date because they made supercomputers.

But I knew Cray was a hidden gem because I have followed the firm since the 1980s, when I first began analyzing the impact supercomputers would have on Star Wars and other defense programs.

  • the NOva-X RepORt Investors Report

    8

I knew they were onto something big in 2005 when they hired multi-talented IBM veteran Peter J. Ungaro as president and CEO.

Ungaro had a vision that supercomputers could be relevant if they could be made many times faster.

And Cray makes some of the fastest machines on earth. Crays supercomputers are already being used to solve such Big Data puzzles as climate change, using nanomolecules to cure disease, and rerouting traffic in major cities to save lives and reduce gridlock.

In fact, as this desire to tap into Big Data makes its way around the world, Cray has emerged as the technical leader in its field.

Not only does it boast the worlds fastest supercomputer, its picking up new multi-million dollar contracts left and right. Not just in the U.S. but around the world.

Earlier this year, the firm nailed a $23 million contract to supply one of its supercomputers to a German weather prediction center.

And they recently just won a big contract in Japan, supplying a renowned railroad research organizing with a bevy of supercomputers to help them bring new innovations to high speed rail.

In the past two years the stock has rallied for gains of 247%. But this is chump change compared to whats to come.

Remember, we expect Big Data spending to jump to $50 billion by 2016. I have no doubt with the the Hybrid Memory Cube on the horizon, that number will grow even larger.

Cray will be a huge beneficiary.

Trading at roughly $21 a share, the stock sells for just five times forward earnings and has a 38% profit margin and a 63% return on equity.

I wouldnt be surprised if the stock doubles over the next two years.
