What is St. Francis Family Medicine and ReadyCare at Brewster Place? This is the newest primary care facility and first walk-in clinic at St. Francis Health in Topeka.
Where is the clinic? It is located at 1101 SW 29th Street across from Brewster Rehab.
Why is the clinic located at Brewster Place? The clinic is a partnership between Brewster and St. Francis Health, created to better serve the healthcare needs of southwest Topeka and surrounding areas.

Who will staff the clinic? St. Francis plans to staff board certified family physicians and pri-mary care staff. Dr. Dennis Tietz, Dr. Chester Davis and Loretta Ho-erman, P.A., will be the first three providers at the Brewster Place location.
Who can be seen at the clinic? New patients will be accepted at the clinic. In addition, all St. Fran-cis Health clinic patients who are established with St. Francis’ pri-mary care providers may be seen at this location.
What services will be provided? The clinic will focus mostly on primary care services. Physicians will focus on preventive care, such as well child checks and preventive visits for adults. They will manage chronic health conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. The option of performing minor sur-gical procedures as well as the management of acute illnesses will also be available.
More about the walk-in clinic... St. Francis Family Medicine and ReadyCare at Brewster Place will provide an acute care option for urgent medical conditions. The urgent care facility will function during non-traditional hours of operation that will overlap and complement the primary clinics’ hours. Any member of the community can be seen at this facility — not just patients established at St. Francis Health. This facility will not be equipped or staffed to manage major life threatening conditions such as heart attacks or major trauma from accidents.

Your attitude should be
the same as that of
Christ Jesus: who, being
in very nature God, did
not consider equality
with God something to
be grasped, but made
himself nothing, taking
the very nature of a
servant, being made in
human likeness.
— Philippians 2:5-7

We want to remind residents that Brewster Place offers a Walk-In Clinic in the Home Health Office located in Commerce Court (adjacent to CoreFirst Bank & Trust Brewster Branch).

Happy New Year from Brewster to You!
1. Stop beating yourself up for the past because you can't
change it - only learn from it and try to forgive yourself.
2. Stop beating yourself up for things you didn't do but others
will blame you for.
3. Stop beating others up for the failings, shortcomings and
imperfections for which they should ask for forgiveness. And
quit bringing them up or saying I told you so!
4. Stop associating with people who beat you up - avoid poi-
sonous people of any kind! Especially during the holidays.
They can ruin everything.
5. Stop trying to please people who can't be pleased- or if you
must do things for them, stop expecting that they will be
grateful- just do it!
6. Forgive others and ask for forgiveness.
7. And practice the daily art of forgiveness in prayer, medita-
tion, and interaction.
Forgiveness | Letters from Larry LeadingAge President and CEO Larry Minnix has worked in aging
services for more than 45 years. He frequently shares his experiences and
lessons from his work. We thought this was a wonderful message to share
with you. It has been edited for length. The entire message can by found at
LeadingAge.org/Larry_Letters
N elson Mandela's death caused me to pon-
der how a man can be unrighteously im-
prisoned for 27 years and emerge from that ex-
perience forgiving the people and the racism that
produced it. In doing so, he not only became the
president of his country, but also he became an
exemplar among very few in history. I don't know
how someone can be that forgiving. Most people
in his position would have retaliated.
And, there isn't anyone among us who
hasn't experienced a situation where we at least
second guess ourselves, or at worst, say that an
incident was "unforgiveable." This time of year
seems to intensify the negative power of the
bondage of the unforgiven or the liberating pow-
er of forgiveness. So, let me give you some holi-
day advice about forgiveness based on my 45
years in our field:
