An Innovation to Extract Silica from Ash

    2

Bridgedots have developed an innovative technology to convert Rice Husk

Ash in the Highly Disperible Green Silica, which has application in tires.

The highly dispersible silica is an advanced grade of silica used as filler in

tires, and can reduce the fuel efficiency of vehicle by 5-7%.

Rice Husk Ash A Growing Problem

    3

As per an estimate, total rice husk ash generation in India is more than 1 million tons every year. 85% of rice husk ash is disposed of in

open ground, affecting the environment negatively.

    Husk

India produced more than 100 million tons of rice in 2013, which generates around 20 million tons of rice husk.

Captive boilers of rice mills and various other industries, and rice husk based power plants use rice husk as source of energy and generate rice

    husk ash.

    Green Technology for RHA

Every year more than 0.85 million tons rice husk ash is

openly dumped in grounds, affecting environment negatively.

This technology utilizes the ash and generates highly

dispersible silica, unburnt carbon and other marketable

    products.

    Highly Dispersible Silica Market

Global demand of Highly dipersible silica was 0.4 million

    tons in 2013.

It is expected to increase to by CAGR of 12% during 2013-2020.

The global market for green tires was worth $44.8 billion in 2012

(28% of the total tire market).

It is forecast to increase to $70.6 billion (35% of the total tire

market) by 2017 (at a CAGR of

    9.5%).

Demand of highly dispersible silica is expected to grow significantly

due to tire labeling regulation in

    various countries.
