As astudent, youll have the signicantadvantage o your own permanent
studio space. We place major importance on drawing, but youll also translate
your ideas into digital ormats. Youll use cutting-edge computer suites plus
proessionallyequipped workshops or dyeing, screen- printing, heat-transer
printing, digital printingand laser- cutting. The emphasis is on originalityand
innovation, and the higheststandards o work and proessionalism.
We also showstudent workat international bookairs, and the NewDesigners
Exhibition, London, is an opportunityor our graduatingstudents to present
themselves and their workto aproessional audience and to meetpotential
employers. First-year students have aweek -longstudy trip to Amsterdam or
other cultural capitals while second-year students have a choice o two visits
to Paris. A urther visitto New Yorkis scheduled everythree years, open to
students on all three years.
What YouWill Study
Year One You will explore drawing, colour and design and a range o print
methods bothtraditional and digital or paper and abric. We will help you
nd, develop and express your own personal interests and approach
to designing.
Year Two Innovation is the ocus and strivingto develop apersonal hand-
writing thatyou can apply to all to your choice o design contexts.
Year Three You will plan your own programme o work in your chosen area
o specialisation to give you the experience and proessional portolio you
require to condentlypresent yoursel to the design industry.
The Textile Fellowship allows some students to stayon ater graduatingand
use our acilities to do proessional collaborations and/or setup their own
business withthe supporto course tutors.
WorkPlacements
Our students are in highdemand and veryquickly secure
workplacement opportunities withtop studios.

As a student, youll have the significant advantage of your own
studio space. We place major importance on drawing, but youl
your ideas into digital formats. Youll use cutting-edge comput
professionally equipped workshops for dyeing, screen- printing
printing, digital printing and laser- cutting. The emphasis is on
innovation, and the highest standards of work and professional .
We also show student work at international book fairs, and the
Exhibition, London, is an opportunity for our graduating studen
themselves and their work to a professional audience and to m
employers. First-year students have a week-long study trip to A
other cultural capitals while second-year students have a choi
to Paris. A further visit to New York is scheduled every three ye
students on all three years.
