Aquestionwasaskedconcerningthestatusofthegrantapplicationfromthe

KarateClubwhichhadpreviouslybeenconsideredbythepanel.TSexplained

thathehademailedtheclubwiththequestionswhichrequiredclarificationbut

hadreceivednoreply.JRindicatedthathehadacontactattheclubandwould

getintouchwiththem.

(b)Thepanelconsidereditsapproachtograntapplications.

Thequestionwasraisedaboutwhereseveralgroupsexisted,independently,but

undertheumbrellaofalargerorganisation.Forexample,whereachurchranan

Elderlypeople'sclubandalsoaYouthGroup.Itwasagreedtoconsidereach

applicationonitsmerits,butthatgenerallysituationssuchasthatdescribed

shouldnotbeabarriertoconsideringeachgroup'srequestseparatelyasifthey

wereanindependentgroup.

ThemeetingthenconsideredtwoapplicationstorecommendtotheCDF.

(i)BrierleyHillOutreachTeam-Outreachtothosewhohaveundergonelife

changingexperiences.

Thegroupwasaskingfor500whichwasmatchedappropriately.Itwasagreed

tosupportthisapplication.

DavidHoskindeclaredaninterestinthisitemanddidnottakepartinthe

decisionmakingprocess.

(ii)YoungLeadersGroup-Thisprojectwilldeveloptheleadershipskillsofyoungpeoplethroughatrainingprogrammeinvolvingaweeklyopportunityto

puttheirskillsintopracticebyvolunteeringataKidsClubasYoungLeaders.

Thegroupwasaskingfor2400.Itwasagreedtosupportthisapplication.

JohnRogersdeclaredaninterestinthisitemanddidnottakepartinthedecision

makingprocess.

Thegroupthenagreedthatitwouldbeusefulifthosewhohadreceivedfunding

couldforwardthroughsomephotographsforuseinpublicitymaterials.

CommunityFirstActionPlan

TScirculatedandupdatedlistofcontactsandtimewastakentoworkthrough

identifyingthosewhichwerenolongervalidandsuggestingwhoshouldbe

addedin.Itwasagreedthatthiswouldformagoodbasisforfutureconsultation

withinthewardandtotestproposalsforanemergingActionPlan.

Workwouldneedtobecompletedonthisby31stMarch.
