Thanks to nambi and team who helped a lot for fresher like me to get a job.I am right now at accenture mumbai and

earlier i was with sutherland chennai and i am ready to refer the candidates referred by nambi who may be

fresher/experienced and we have scheme over there for reference.

Thanks to nestjobs and ezhilnambi and to my friends like kaliraj and others to win the race.

As a suggestion for fresher ever and never lose hope and where u r not the matters and how u r matters.

I tried for 43 companies totally in this 6 months and accenture is my second job and the first one being sutherland.

out of 43 nearly 8 are s/w companies and remaining are bpos,call centers and marketing.

I cleared test at virtusa and lost at second round of technical,similarly in case of hcl cisco.Also cleared two world

reputed software companies and the third one being accenture.

As far as Bpo and call center rejected in many and selected in 3.I rejected the offer of marketing.

But When i started working out it was 43 comapnies totally after which only i got in to a s/w concern that too in a big

concern like accenture(world top ten group).

first of all thanx to Almighty.only he made it possible 4 me to get through .i gave test on 19th june but i did not receive

any letter till sterday, then out of nowhere i got a mail saying u are selected for infosys and joining date is 25 july in

mysore. i thank all my well wishers and friends for their constant support whom i can rely upon at any time.

would like to thank the group moderator Mr.Ezhil Nambi for starting such an incredible

group which is helping

out a number of job hunters to reach their goal and iam one of them. This group played

a major role in my

success with valuable suggestions of all the members and the previous question papers of

various companies.

This is Manolina.I am very happy to inform you that I got selected in Infosys.My joining date is 25th july(Mysore).

Firstly I would like to thank Mr. Ezhil Nambi and all the members of the group .I have been a silent member of

nestjobs for about 4 months.

I cleared the written test on 19th june and called for interview on 20th june (Bangalore). My interview went on for

7-8 mins.There were two interviewers.They asked me to tell about myself, my strengths and weaknesses.Then they

gave me a situation....Suppose u r the team leader.One of ur team member is very efficient and he does his work very

sincerely and gives u more output than the other two members.But the main problem is that he comes very late and

leaves very early.Other 2 members complain to u against him .How will u solve it? Then they asked me a puzzle(easy

one).....There are altogether 70 heads and 140 legs .Tell the no. of cows and cowboys.Lastly, they asked me if I have

any questions.That's all.

Best of luck to all those who are still trying.Don't loose heart.Always remember............. FAILURE IS THE FIRST

STEP TO SUCCESS.

I am adhiyaman, a silent member of this group. I got through INFOSYS. My sincere thanks to NEST-JOBS. My special

thanks to MR.KANIKUMARAN , a member of this group who guided me to success. I have attended INFOSYS written

test on 26th Dec 2004 and HR interview on 28th of the same month. The Questions of the written test were very easy

and i solved 8 puzzles and got thru the test. After a day i attended HR interview at Bangalore INFY campus. The

following is my experience with the HR. There were two persons at the interview panel, a gentleman and a lady. At first

they asked how to pronounce my name and the meaning of it. I told them that it was a ancient King's name. They asked

his period of rule and his history. And they asked regular questions like " Tell about urself" etc. and the interview

continued as follows.....

HR: What are your strength?

I answered them "Self-confidence , Self-motivated, Team playing skills, Ability to make friends and my friends are my

strength".

HR: You told that u have Team playing skill. Give me an example where u exhibited ur team playing skill.

I: I cleared the written test of Infosys through Team work. With my friends,I formed a Team and discussed all the

toughest puzzles and it helped me a lot. So i have got a good team playing ability.

HR: Apart from ur studies what are ur interest?

I: I am interested in reading Self motivating books, especially

Mr. M.S.Udayamoorthi's book, a famous writer in Tamil.

HR: Name the book u read recently?

I: "Ennangal" By M.S.U.

HR: What is the concept of the book?

I: Everything is possible if u think so. Man is the creator of his own future. If u think u can....u can...

HR: Ok. What u thought and what u achieved?

I: I thought of clearing the written test of INFOSYS in the first attempt itself and so i achieved it.

(Here the HR looked a little bit impressed)

Now the lady continued her questions

HR: Tell me about your projects?

I exlained them the projects ....

HR: Whether this project will be useful for INFOSYS?

and i continued to explain them about it.

HR: Tell me your experience at the N.S.S. camp( i have wrote N.S.S camp in the coloumn of extra-curricular activities in

the application form given to me at the time of written test)

I: We organized the N.S.S camp at a village called sivagiri and planted trees and organized many shows to create

awareness.

HR: What u learn from the N.S.S Camp?

I: That camp gave me inner satisfication.I came to know the joy of social service through that camp.

(Now He started asking puzzles)

HR: There is a 100 meter runway. we both start at the same time and u reached the end 5 mins before me. Now i start

5 meter ahead of u.Now tell me the time difference of reaching time of both of us.

I told them the formulae of Distance = Time*speed. and made some calculations and told them the answer.

HR:There are some red,white and green balls in a container. Now i take out three balls randomly. Tell me the minimum

no of balls to get three red balls?

I asked him to tell the exact no of red, white and green balls.

HR: 30 balls of each colour.

I: Total sample space 90 and there are totally 30 red balls. Now the chance of getting a red ball is 30/90.....and told

them this way..

(Actually the answer is 63)

HR: U are asked to design a vehicle for a Disabled girl. Tell me the steps u r going to take to deign the vehicle?

I told him that i would make several prototype....etc.......

HR: Apart from ur subjects what r ur interests?

I told him "PHYSICS"

HR: Wow. I have an interesting question in Physics?

(Now i am little bit tensed but the question he asked me is simple and i have already read it from the questions i

downloaded from the groups)

HR: There are two identical bars of which one is magnet and the other is iron and u dont have any other device in your

hand. How can u identify the magnet?

I:Magnet has the property of attraction at the poles. Now hold a bar horihorizontally and slowly move the other bar

vertically towards the center of the first bar. If the vertical bar is attracted to the center itself then the vertical bar is the

magnet or else if the the vertical bar is repelled and attracted towards the pole of the horizontal then the horizontal bar is

magnet.

HR: Now the final question. U r the pilot of a plane and u r travelling along with 4 members. Only one parachute is there

and the flight is going to crash. What u will do now?

I: Tell me the profession of the members travelling in the plane.

HR: Two of them are ur friends and the other two are crew members.

(This time i should have asked him their ages but i answered them without asking this question as follows)

I: As a pilot, i am responsible for the lives of them. As i can save only one i will hand over my parachute to the youngest

person in the plane.

HR:If two persons are of the same age(i.e young age)? what u will do now?

I just smiled to the HR and told him that its a tough question to answer.

HR: Do u have any questions?

I: If i am selected what will be the domain of work

Now the HR described the duration of training and domain of work and all the details of the training..They told me that

they will send the result within 3 weeks through mail.

Finally they greeted me " All the best for your future" and i left the room...So this is my HR interview experience at INFOSYS and i got confirmation mail on Jan 05th 2005 and now waiting for the call letter.( Date and place of joining are yet to be confirmed).The only thing about the interview is "Stay confident and cool throughout the interview" and u will get it. All the best.

I gave my written test on 6th feb. attended my interview on 18th feb..

The written test is easy to tacle.. As it is hit to fit ratio I attended 18 out of 40 questions.. Only one wrong as far as I

know..

The interview was cool.. Nothing with HR .. only technical questions were thrown on me.. I answered some with

confidence .. and clearly told them i dont know for what ever i dont know...

First the HR person was asking me abt my previous job. ( i was in a BPO for 7 months.. 2004 passed out.)

Then he asked abt Software Engineering (SDLC )

Then the tech interview lady joined the discussion..

She asked abt

41 ) c - pointers ...

how to access the i th element in an array using pointers...

2) DAta Structures

Abt the different sorting alsorithms..

Then also specifically abt a) quick sort and b)buble sort...

3) DBMS

Abt normalisation... Explain each form...

And some thing more ...

The interview went for 40 minutes...

Thanks for the group.help once again. I got job in satyam in campus and ;honey well (HTSL , maduri) in off

campus.

In satyam

3 months traning in the scendrabad .During training they will give a stipend of 10,000/-. no facilites for the satying will be

provided. After that 9 months on job trainig with a gross sal of 2.2 lac per annum. They can place me any where in india.

I have to sign 2 year bond with company frm this year. If i break i need to pay a amount of 2.5 lac. After one year they

may nearly increase 5k per month ( not very shore).

In Honeywell

8 month s Traning in maduri with only pay stipend 6000/-. No stay facilites will be provided. training will be provided in

Thiagarajar Advanced Research centre. Thiagarajar college of engineering , Maduri. After that as HR in the interview

I am glad that i got into Infosys and want to share my experince with all u guys....

Written Test

Many have a myth that Infosys written test is very tough,its not so. We being freshers hav no knowledge abt their

pattern but once u go thru previous papers u vl find it quite easy.To be frank even i was not able solve all puzzels from

Shakuntala Devi's and even from some other previous papers..But i worked very hard and solved as much puzzels i

can get on.

U can even register in "brainvista.com" and get to know many of the puzzels.

To get the previous papers, many groups are there like chetana,jobs_mania,nestjobs....and many more.I used to collect

each n every paper fom these groups.Really they r very useful.

If u r having a written test then follow these steps(These are based on my experience and its only a suggestion u may

not blindly follow these):

1> Start solving the puzzels from Shakuntala Devi's book.If u r doing it for the first time dont get dejected if u cannot

solve any one(even a simple one).No one is perfect.U may leave the quns and jump on to next, markin the previous one

or just see the method.I am not suggesting to do this always but dont get discouraged....

One more thing, all the puzzels in these books are not so important ,u can even skip some of them(like those with big

numbers....)

2>It may take 2-3 days for an avg student to complete the two Shakuntala books.

3> After that go for George Summers.This is ideal for 8 marks qns.It has two parts,be good at first part.Even if second

part is a bit hard for u, u can get a good practise of these in previous papers.

4> Now go for the previos papers..As i said there r alot of them on the net.Just search in google n u vl find many.Log on

to www.interviewat.com\infosys n u can find a bank of previous qns.This particular site had helped me a lot.

5> and at last (ie before one day of the written test),dont forget to solve the Shakuntal's and Summer's.Yes its like a

revision and moreover if u get a known qns u get the answer in no time.Guys time is very important in the exam.I knew

4 of them and it took only 5mns to solve

them.This was like a lease of life for me.But i got stuck at one 8m qns but at last i solved it.

IMPORTANT

In the exam u vl hav 1hr for puzzels and 30 mins for english.I dont think they vl even consider those english marks.I had

comleted 7 in 1hr.Then i finished English in less then 10mns.The remaining time i sept on puzzles.Even if they take

away the puzzels qns paper write the qns in rough sheets..Try solving the 8m qns first since u cannot write all the stmts

given the qns.

Believe it or not I was jus looking at the English qns and without even thinkg for a while, I was ticking the answer.Just

complete the english as soon as possible....

Interview

Its was koolest interview i had ever heard or ever seen was.

Even i was some what tensed at first but once enetered the cabin, I was smiling a lot.

They even complemented me saying i had a good sense of humor(dont crack jokes in front of them but show them that

u r a kool person ...think u understand what i am saying)

They asked abt my project(guys get to know project well ,in any company the HR will be concentrating on project).They

were looking for my teamplayer quality, which i showed them very well.Always be positive and confident abt ur

answer.They asked me 2 puzzels i gav one correct ans.They r not lookin for ans but the working method.

Think these would be enough to make u get some idea abt Infosys.Any how for all those who r willing to join Infosys

This is Rajani Guduri, B.Tech graduate of Information Technology background passed out in 2004. I wanted to share my 10.5 months experiences and hurdles I have faced in my job searching in Bangalore.

I stepped in Bangalore on May 22nd ,2004. Basically I am from a village nearby Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. All my education was carried out in rural areas. Schooling was done in my village itself. Next +2 was also in a rural area. Next I did my B.Tech in a small town. I was not so much aware of what’s the present scenario in software field. When I came to Blore I had two problems-- how to get adjusted to this type of environment all new, and the other was how to start my searching. Dont worry even if u r new to Blore. The Bloreans are very good enough to help u.

I came with a hope that I am having good academics and I can get job easily within 2 months. One thing my dear friends u should have support in Blore if u want to search for job. This is important. Of course its disappointing to many of them. If u doesn’t have enough references u wont get calls. If u don’t have so many references don’t get depressed I can suggest u the other way. U should not hesitate to ask others for help. Many Employees if u request them they will give u reference. I am the example of it. When I came to Blore I had only the reference of my cousin, who helped me a lot in my job search. But now I had many references so it depends on us. Don’t hesitate to ask help even if u doesn’t know them.Resume Preparation. Up to my knowledge, getting calls is based on the percentage. but some says that the recruiters scrutinizes the resume and shortlist the best among all. so, prepare resume in a good manner. Take the help of ur seniors or ur elders. If u see resume of others see the format and modify ur resume if u think its better than urs. There’s no wrong in it. Before starting ur search consult ur seniors bcoz their experiences wil help u to analyze things and u can go in the right path. It is of my own exp i didnt have contact with my seniors so it took 45 days for me to get into the right path. Most of exp suggests applying thru NAUKRI, JOBSAHEAD, and JOBASSIST etc. Don’t go for them. Its waste of time. It’s not useful for freshers. I literally wasted 45 days of my precious time by applying thru them. Then u may get a doubt then how can get the info.here r the good sites which helps u in ur job search

Guidelines To JobHunters

Applying Thru emails:

1. By the above said sites and thru ur refernces u wil get ids and u can send email to those ids.Ur frns may get callletters for exam from companies so note those ids and send ur resume to those ids also. U may also get call then if u r eligible.

2. Ids from newspaper-- less useful for freshers. Mostly we wont get news for freshers in newspapers. But dont neglect newspapers sometimes it may be helpful. here r the newspapers - The Hindu, Deccan Herald, Times of India etc.

3. store all the ids u have applied for by the above said methods and apply for them repeatedly atleast once in a month. U may get calls .

Applying Thru the company websites.

1. Access the company websites and upload ur resume in the database of them. u can website address from freshersworld.com,aucse.com,vyomworld.com.

Dropping hardcopies of ur resume. 2. In my opinion its waste of dropping hard copies bcoz they wil throw it in dustbin. but there's one

benefit u can know the companies location and when u get call from the companies u wil have idea about the location and u can easily go. Also if u request the receptionist may sometimes gives u hr ids. So take note of them and store them also.

1.2. GOING FOR WALK-INS Really this is the worst of all the above in the life of all freshers. The companies announce walk-ins and they don’t precautions to handle the crowd. They wil make time pass for sometime. They wil make us to stand for 5 to 6 long hours and ask us to drop resume and leave the place. This is the where many of freshers get frustration. I don’t think they wil scrutinize of all the resumes. But some companies they wil surely scrutinize. I have attended walk-ins of AZTEC, ORACLE, Mindtree, Sapient, GE. Out of which I got call from Mindtree, GE, AZTEC. But u should require patience . Here I think the company people wil check our patience. But the advantage of going to walk-ins is u can extend ur circle. U can make new frnds and can get valuable info from ur frnds. Its just like meeting for all the freshers and a place for freshers to exchange their experiences. We can’t stand alone for so much long time singly so we wil get new frns and get info. So don’t avoid walk-ins.

Next Starts Preparation

Now almost all companies r recruiting in the same way. Aptitude test & Technical TestTechnical Interview- may be one or two roundsHR round First be perfect in basics. Sometimes Group Discussion b4 Tech Interview.For Aptitude be thorough of Quantitative Aptitude – BY RS Agarwal Verbal Reasoning of RS Agarwal mainly Series Completion both of numbers and alphabets, Statements – Conclusions, Blood Relations,Barrons GRE book I think 13th edition or 14th edition.Test ur C skills by Yashwant Kanetkar

Pointers in C by Yashwant KanetkarAucse.com, freshersworld.com sample papers, vyomworld.com sample papers, Faqs on C/C++.For freshers they concentrate on C & C++ only. So be perfect in them. Concentrate on ur project.When u go for tech interview they wil first ask u to say abot u. So give u r introduction. Ur qualification, where u did, hobbies, significant achievements in ur life and end with ur project say objective of ur project and make them to divert on ur project for some time. Get prepare well on ur project and u should be ready to answer any question posed on project. Be confident in answering. By diverting the interviewer onto ur project, u wil get less questions on other subjects and so u can easily get thru the interview.

Here r the companies I have attended b4 getting into IBM

1)AZTEC – Referral Walk-in. First exam I have taken. Stood for 5 long hours to write the exam. Didn’t get thru the exam. But got the idea of what to prepare and started preparation in that way.

2)ORACLE Walk-in: July 4th 2004 I think every 2004 passed out knows abot it. Stood for 6 long hours and came back without writing exam. Faced very horrible situation. rememberable day.

3)Ionidea Walk-in: Imp in my job search. Climbed the wall and went inside to write the exam. We went late for the exam. They closed the doors so many of the boys they climbed and atlast myself and the other girl jumped the wall and wrote the exam. Didn’t get thru the exam.

4)Gignext(E2 Technologies) Walk-in : got thru the test. Bad luck I was not able to attend the interview bcoz I went to write AZTEC exam fort he second time. Didn’t get the info within time and lost the opportunity . This happened in the month of July.

5)UTL(call-based): Got thru the test and didn’t get thru the interview.

6)Huawei(call-based): didn’t get thru the test.

7)AZTEC (call-based): didn’t get thru the test. Same paper as b4.

8)FCG( call-based) : got thru the test. Got out in GD. But got confidence .

9)Novell(call-Based on August 20th): got thru the test and didn’t get thru the interview.

10)Mindtree(call – based) : didn’t get thru the test. Got call for dropping resume in the walk-in

11) ORACLE(call-based): for tech-support . Got thru the test but didn’t get thru the interview. Actually did well I don’t know y they haven’t given result. They didn’t gave result to anyone.

12)onmobile(call-based): didn’t get thru the test.

13)Infosys(sep 12th): Didn’t get thru the test.

Here started my period of disappointment. No calls for 45 days. There started the period of references-- Calls only thru reference. Really , an important part of my job search. Many of my frnds r getting into jobs with % less than me but I am not able to. At one stage I thought I am not at all suitable for job in s/w field and cannot exist within the this fake world. But my cousin , who helped me a lot in my job search boosted me and encouraged me all the time when I was down .Really , thanqful to him. My dear frnds, one sincere advice to u is don’t get depressed. If u get depression , motivate urself or have chat with ur close and good frnds who boosts u. Depression is the first obstacle which u face in ur job search so be aware of it.

14) CISCO (I think its on October 17th) : After 35 days I got a call. But I didn’t get thru test.

15) Covansys(call-based): didn’t get thru the test.

16) Trilogy(call-based): didn’t get thru the test.

17)Perot Systems(call-based): didn’t get thru the test.

18)vaultinfo(call-based same day of perot sys): got thru the test. Didn’t get thru the interview.

19)Onmobile(call-based): didn’t get thru the test 20)Mikotek(call-based): got thru the test. They said we wil call u if ur profile matches with our clients. After two months I got call from them saying the same info but didn’ t get any call from them.

21)Accord-soft(call-based): got thru the test. Did well in the interview but didn’t get thru the interview.

22)DSL(call-based): didn’t get thru the test.

23)GE(call-based) : got the call for dropping resume in walk-in of GE. Didn’t get thru the test.

24)Evident Soft(call-based): didn’t get thru the test.

25)Axes Technologies(call-based): didn’t get thru the test.

26) IBM (call-based on feb 17th): got thru the test, two tech interviews.

27) CDOT: didn’t get thru the test.

Frnds have u observed my sequence. I got thru exams consecutively when I got calls . this is bcoz of confidence only. But after a break of 35 days I didn’t get thru many of the exams this is bcoz of loosing confidence. So my dear frns plz don’t loose confidence. It is only weapon with which we can continue our battle until we win.Hope u got idea abot job search.

In some i cleared test and failed in Interview .. some

all cleared but still didnt get throo..i was not able

to fine out what went wrong.In some cases my friends

who copied from me even cleared the tests and got

through.

Polaris test was conducted in RMK Emgg college which

is near Andhra Tamilnadu Border.. I thought it is

nearby and took a call taxi, for which i paid nearly

Rs850/-

Kanbay test was conducted at a school in Kilpauk, the

test was not arranged properly .. too much crowd

turned up that day .. so we didnt have place to stand

and finally to manage the crowd they called the police

and charged us .. I got too upset the way they

organised and what to do ..i showed my grievance

against HR in our own language.

There are so many incidents like this which i can

write a story.. but was confident that i will get

throo one day ..That confidence was given to me only

my mother and my dear friends .. They were a great

source of confidence for me ..

later i got a call letter for test @ St.josephs

college on friday /.. 576 people appeared for the test

of which only 45 got throo .. and next round was on

saturday .. they asked us to come at 8.30 sharp..but

my Hr interview was at 11.30pm and they told me to

wait for 15 mins after which i had my Technical

interview at 5.45pm.

Ha! Ha!! the time i spent there was so nervous and i

dont have words to describe ..But i got relaxed after

having Chicken Biryani and Chicken 65 @ satyabama..

The technical panel focussed me on Cobol and DB2 .. i

answered them and he was satisfied and asked me " what

is your %?"

I told "79.8%" for which he replied that i was very

unlucky that no one took me .. But i thought " Thank

god no one took me else i wud have missed this

oppurtunity to work @ accenture" .. I was the 2nd last

person to go and cleared the panel..finally they

shortlisted around 32 people ..

I was telling all my friends that just 2 more months

for 2005 to be passed out and after which wour batch

2003 wont be considered .. I was telling that this is

my final Countdown and if i get throo welll and good

else i palnned to do MBA!! but by God's grace i got

it!! Iam very happy that i got this offer with my

talentand God's grace and not with any other

source,which u guys know very well !!
