In 17 meetings between the two teams in 2017 the LumberKings took the season series 10 games to 7. In the all-time series, going back to 1963, the Timber Rattlers lead 304 games to 363. Since the LumberKings have been a Seattle Mariners affiliate, 2009, Clinton trails 67 games to 71. LumberKings Starter: Ryne Inman, 21, makes his 2018 season debut with the LumberKings this afternoon. The Georgia native is one of nine returners on the LumberKings Opening Day roster. In 2017, Inman faced the Timber Rattlers twice and went 1-0 against them while allowing two runs over a combined 9.2 innings. Over two stints with the LumberKings in 2017 he went 2-4 with a 6.28 ERA in 38.2 innings worked. Inman was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 15 th round of the 2015 draft as a high school pitcher where he had helped lead his schools team to the Georgia 4A State Championship. The righty still considers the high school run, his favorite baseball memory. Timber Rattlers Starter: Christian Taugner, 22, makes his 2018 season debut with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Freshly activated in advance of Tuesday afternoons game, the Ivy League product makes just the fourth start of his professional career. Taugner pitched collegiately for Brown University where a graduated with a degree in economics before being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 37 th round of the 2017 MLB draft. While pitching for the Brown Bears, Taugner missed the entire 2015 season due to injury before rebounding with back-to-back Second Ivy League honor seasons. He made his professional debut the AZL Brewers on June 25 th with a perfect inning of relief. Hitting in Bunches: Monday nights 10-4 loss the Wisconsin Timmber Rattlers was not as lopsided in the hit column. LumberKings batters registered 11 hits on the night to end the game even with Wisconsin in hits. Four games into the season the LumberKings are 2-2 but still have yet to be outhit in a game. The End of a Streak: After briefly leading 1-0 on Monday night, LumberKings pitching saw their modest 13.1 inning scorless inning streak come to end in a big way in the top of the second inning. Nine men came to the plate for Wisconsin in the inning to score four runs. Grace Period: The 2018 Minor League season opens with a litany of new rules. Among the rules unique to the Minor Leagues will be extra inning rules where teams will begin each extra inning with a runner at second base. Teams in the Midwest League will be limited to 10 mound visits a game but there will be grace period allowing player time to get accustomed to the new rule. April 20 th is the date in which umpires will be asked to enforce the 10 mound visits per game rule. Sandoval Smash: Ariel Sandoval has been the thumper in the middle of the lineup the LumberKings lineup. On Monday night the former Los Angeles Dodgers farm hand added three RBIs to bring his early season team lead of 7. Two of his runs batted in came on his third home run of the season. Those Guys Top Prospects: The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers enter the 2018 season with three of the Milwaukee Brewers top 30 prospects, according to Baseball America. Outfielder Tristen Lutz is the highest ranked on the list, coming in at 11. Lutz was taken 34 th overall in the 2017draft and then split his 2017 season between the Helena Brewers and AZL Brewers. Catcher KJ Harrison is ranked 16 th after being drafted out of Oregon State University (OSU). Despite seldom seeing time behind the plate at OSU and seeing the majority of his action at first base or DH the Brewer announce that they planned to use him primarily as a catcher. Another catcher on the Timber Rattlers, Peyton Henry ranks as the 28 th top prospect. Henry forwent a scholarship with Brigham Young to sign with the Brewers after being drafted in the 6 th round in the 2016 draft. Today’s Preview: The Clinton LumberKings (A, Mariners) meet the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (A,

Diamondbacks) for the first time in 2018 with the second game of a four-game series. In 17 meetings

between the two teams in 2017 the LumberKings took the season series 10 games to 7. In the all-time

series, going back to 1963, the Timber Rattlers lead 304 games to 363. Since the LumberKings have been
