Summer is a time to take it slow and easy. There’s no better way to celebrate that feeling than with live music and your favorite summertime treat! Enjoy musical performances by local musicians and taste fresh strawberries over ice cream (while supplies last).

The grassy meadow next to the Meadowbrook Interpretive Center is the perfect spot for this free concert with an old-fashioned f lavor. This summer event features a hayrack ride through the park and guided prairie tours. Don’t forget your blanket or lawn chairs! Overflow parking is available at Stone Creek Church at the corner of Windsor Road and Race Street.

This year explore nature play at Strawberry Jam. View our plans for a planned nature playscape in Crystal Lake Park while making and playing with nature’s “loose parts”.

Junior PerformersMonday and Wednesday rehearsals from 6:30-7:30pmJune 13-July 13Ages 5-9Phillips Recreation Center

This non-musical play program gives younger actors more direct attention and performance experience than they would receive from a full-scale musical. Participants will learn basic performance skills: volume, facing out, memorization, being a good audience member, characterization, and commitment. Rehearsals will take place alongside those for the mainstage production of Willy Wonka. A matinee performance will be held on stage at Parkland College. This program is perfect for young actors who are interested in getting started in theatre but aren’t ready for the rigorous rehearsal and performance schedule of our regular Youth Summer Theatre production.
