Celebrating the life and work of Edward Gorey (1925-2000), The E d w a r d G o r e y H o u s e i s a unique and fascinating glimpse into the world of one of America’s most prolific and enigmatic illustrators.

Visitors to the house will also be pleas-antly suprised by the sheer number of original Gorey art and personal items, such as his fantas-tic collection of fur coats and numerous hand-made artifacts.

For our 2010 exhibit, we are featuring a wide assortment of books and illustrations that Edward created for authors other than himself.

Each year the Edward Gorey House fea-tures a new themed exhibit. These rotating exhibitions, along with the outstanding as-sortment of material we feature throughout the year, are certain to arouse your senses and delight your imagination each time you visit.

The house features countless rare and unique personal effects from Gorey’s life and vast body of work. Visitors to the museum will discover many of the daily objects that gave inspira-tion to Gorey’s magnificent talents.

Longtime fans and new ones alike will delight in view-ing rarely seen and unpublished works as well as famous ones by Edward Lear, John Updike and Virginia Wolfe.
