Pharmaceutical Exhibition Stalls & Free Medical
Camps
Exhibition Stalls are available for display products and
services. As limited numbers of stalls are available, they
are provided on first come first serve basis. Exhibition Stalls
3 x 3 m2 (App. 10’ x 10’) – Rs. 100,000/- (exhibitors receive
2 complementary conference registrations). Please note
that the exhibition will be held on 19th, 20th & 21st December
2013 at the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of
Colombo along with the Conference. You can also
download the registration form for exhibitors at our website.
In order to increase the public gathering, free medical
camps, health screening and investigations will be arranged
during the conference.

Dear Colleagues and Professionals,
We extend a cordial invitation to participate in the “1st
International Conference in Unani, Ayurveda, Siddha &
Traditional Medicine” organized by the Institute of
Indigenous Medicine (IIM), University of Colombo under the
guidance of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Sri
Lanka on 19th to 21st December 2013. The 6th International
Conference on Medicinal Plants and Natural Products will
also organized by the University of Colombo and S.V.
University, Tirupati, India at IIM during the same dates.
The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for
eminent researchers, academicians, physicians, traditional
medical practitioners, manufacturers & exporters of herbal
products, members from the corporate sector, marketing
consultants, agricultural sector & stake holders from all over
the world.
Institute of Indigenous Medicine
It is a well known fact that the Indigenous systems of
Medicine consisting Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and
Traditional systems of medicine have been rendering
immense contribution towards the healthcare system since
ancient time. As a result, nationalistic uprising during the
early part of the 20th century lead to the institutionalization
of the indigenous system of medicine on 10th June, 1929 as
the College of Indigenous Medicine. This institution is
affiliated to the University of Colombo. It is situated at
Rajagiriya, Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, the administrative
capital of Sri Lanka, bordering Colombo. Annually, IIM
produces around 200 Ayurveda & Unani graduates to the
national health stream.

Sri Lanka ‘Serendib’ earlier known as Ceylon is a beautiful
Island popular as “Pearl of the Indian Ocean”. Colombo is
the Commercial capital and the largest city of the country
located on the west coast of the island. It is a busy and
vibrant city with a mixture of modern life and colonial
buildings with a city population of 647,100.

Instructions for Submitting Abstracts
The organizers of the International Conference invite
submission of scientific abstracts for oral presentation or
poster presentation. Abstracts of the paper in any of the
above themes of the conference should be data oriented
reflecting major findings of the paper. Theoretical
statements should be avoided in abstract. The theme
should be mentioned at the top. The abstract should
contain no more than 250 words in IMRAD format and is to
be typed in MS word, Times New Roman, Font 12 and
space 1.5 through email as an attachment should reach the
organizers [email protected]. It is preferred that
abstracts be submitted in electronic format. Submissions by
fax will not be accepted

Insurance
The Organizers of the Conference do not provide insurance
and do not take responsibility for any loss, accident or
illness that might occur during the Conference or in the
course of travel to or from the meeting site. It is, therefore,
the responsibility of the participants to check their coverage
with their insurance provider.

Travel Information
Bandaranaike International Airport is located in
Katunayake, 22 miles (35 km) from Colombo. Katunayake
Expressway is linking the airport to Colombo, with a travel
time of around 15 minutes.
