The Academy

Rewards Apprenticeship Academy The purpose of the Rewards Apprenticeship Academy is to train and guide apprentices through their new journey into the workplace. The Academy is designed with junior employees in mind (although any employee, of any age, can be an apprentice as long as they work 30+ hours per week and are below degree-level qualified) in order to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to flourish within a Business Administration or Customer Service setting.

The Academy benefits the employer by providing the perfect combination of industry training and best practice, whilst the apprentice benefits from up-front training leading to an apprenticeship qualification and builds confidence and skills with their employer throughout the process.

Apprentices attend the Academy for 2 days per week, for the initial 8 weeks of employment before they are fully integrated into the workplace. In addition, each apprentice is allocated a personal trainer who will visit the apprentice in their workplace every 2 to 4 weeks once they have graduated from the Academy and are working full-time. Full funding is available to those aged 16-18 and as the Academy is a rolling programme it can welcome new apprentices at any time during the year!

Apprenticeship Recruitment

If you are interested in taking on a new apprentice but do not have the time to undergo the full recruitment process yourself then why not try our free service? Rewards will screen and short-list potential applicants, based upon your specifications, and then invite you to interview selected applicants. We will assist with coordinating interviews and once you have selected a suitable apprentice we will train the individual through our Academy programme; aiding a smooth transition into your company.

Here’s what a recent employer had to say about our Academy and recruitment service:

...I recently recruited an apprentice, with the help of the Rewards Academy programme. I have no regrets as she has exceeded all my expectations and I see a long-term future for her within our company...

...I was delighted that Rewards selected an apprentice that fits perfectly within our organisation and provide her with quality training. I would have no hesitation in using Rewards to recruit and train further apprentices in the future.

Phoenix Cafe - Wealden Skills Centre

Rewards has entered into an exciting new venture working with the Wealden Skills Centre. Rewards has re-opened the well-equipped catering facility now re-named “The Phoenix Café”. The professional cafe facility will serve the catering needs of both staff and students at the Skills Centre and will re-engage with the local and wider business community and residents.

As a training company, Rewards is also taking the opportunity to train Hospitality apprentices within the facility, under the encouragement and guidance of an experienced Head Chef.

Rewards Managing Director, Andrew Ayres comments:

“I am delighted to be working with the Wealden Skills Centre. There is such a natural synergy between the high quality Hospitality Apprenticeship programmes that Rewards offer and the potential to train apprentices within an operating cafe. The chance to give the local business and student community back their lost cafe was just too good to miss. The new lease of life the cafe now has really is a Phoenix from the ashes!”

“I have worked with Christine Skinner [Rewards Trainer] on quite a few occasions. Firstly on an NVQ in Management for myself and then further training for my team. I love her training style; she definitely changes her style to suit the student. ...Her experiences have led her to be full of knowledge and understanding of situations within the work place and how you as a student can deal with them. Everyone in my team that has worked with Christine has enjoyed their time together and I am pleased to say a 100% pass rate...”
