    Broad Portfolio

    of MCUs and MPUs

inetis MCUs start rom 32 pins, 50 MHz and

2 KB o embedded lash and span up to

    56 pins, 150 MHz and 1 MB o embedded

ash, all eaturing the ARM Cortex-M4 core.

MX amilies start at 400 MIPS with the i.MX2x

RM9-based application processors, and scalep to 1.2 GHz on the ARM Cortex-A9 i.MX 6

eries, which includes the worlds irst quad

ore ARM Cortex-A9 with 64-bit memory bus

    or smart devices.

    Comprehensive

Software EnablementWhen considering time to market, choosing the

ght sotware is the most important aspect o

    esigning next-generation 32-bit embedded

ontrol applications. Kinetis MCUs comeundled with the CodeWarrior independent

    evelopment environment (IDE), eaturing the

    owerul Processor Expert graphical user

terace (GUI) based auto code generator, and

e production-ready MQX RTOS to help

ramatically reduce development time and cost.

MX platorms enable the rapid development

a wide range o applications by providing

    omplete sotware solutions, including Linux,

Windows CE and Android operating systems

oupled with a suite o multimedia codecs. In

ebruary 2011, Freescale and Mentor Graphics

ntered into a unique partnership to enable

aster development and lower costs or i .MX

dditionally, Kinetis and i.MX are supported

y Swell Sotwares GUI solutions. Swells

EG Pro, PEG+ and C/PEG product oerings

clude a GUI library or embedded development

at works tightly with real-time operating

ystems. This allows developers to layout GUI

creens and controls using the PEG library and

xternal resources to generate C/C++ code. TheEG WindowBuilder automatically generates

++ source code that is ready to be compiled

nd linked into any application. Finally, Kinetis

nd i.MX are supported by ARM third-party

    cosystem vendors, including IAR, Keil/ARM,

    reen Hills and SEGGER.

    Market-Leading Integration

inetis MCUs and i.MX MPUs oer the highest

vels o peripheral integration available on the

arket today. Kinetis MCUs combine embedded

    exMemory (conigurable, high-endurance

    EEPROM), high-precision, mixed-signal analog,

including ast 16-bit ADCs, 12-bit DACs,

programmable gain ampliiers and a broad

range o timing, control and communications

peripherals, all in a single MCU. The i.MX amily

includes graphics and video acceleration along

    with connectivity and power management,

    enabling maximum perormance while minimizing

    power and cost.

    Energy Efficient andUltra-Low

    Power

    Whether your need is

    or extended battery lie,

    portable perormance,

    reduced energy costs or

    compliance with energy

    standards, the Energy-

    Eicient Solutions mark highlights selected

products that excel in eective implementation

    o energy-eicient technologies and/or deliver

    market-leading perormance in the application

spaces they are designed to address. Kinetis and

i.MX processor amilies are highly optimized to

be energy eicient and certain product amilies

within their portolios have been awarded the

mark. A wide range o lexible power modes

extend battery lie through stop currents starting

    at less than 1 A. Leading-edge process

technology and system architectures within both

amilies minimize run currents when operating at

    ull speed.

    Assured Supply

Freescales Kinetis and i.MX product amilies

contain the right combination o integration,

ultra-low power and enablement to help you

create your next innovative design in record

time. Both amilies are included in Freescales

Product Longevity Program, which guarantees a

    Enablement

Take your designs to the next level, reduce your

design complexity and accelerate your time

to market with i.MX hardware and sotware

    development solutions. i.MX applications

processors are supported by ull hardware

evaluation and development platorms with a

ocus on ease o use. These hardware platorms

    oer developers a price-eective platorm

to ultimately develop and demonstrate the

personality o their next great product without

    compromising perormance. Each hardware

platorm supports all the key eatures o the

    speciic i.MX processor it supports.

Design iles such as schematics and layout

are provided as well as complete sotware

packages to support the hardware platorms.

    These sotware packages include ull-eatured,

    scalable, optimized and proven operating

systems such as Android, Linux and Windows

Embedded CE, along with a broad multimedia

sotware library, including video, audio, speech

    and image codecs. Complimentary i.MX
