ABOUT THE INSTITUTION Kumaraguru College of Technology is one of the first set of colleges started in private sector. It was established in 1984 by Ramananda Adigalar Foundation under the patronage of Arutselvar Dr. N. Mahalingam. With the able guidance of the management, the college is growing leaps and bounds in every sphere, year after year. The College is an Autonomous Institution located in an environmentally unpolluted vast stretch of 150 acres, just at the outskirts of Coimbatore. The Institution is successfully marching on thirty years of its service with excellent state of the art facilities and committed faculty members. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the oldest Departments in KCT. A well-qualified and highly experienced team of staff members add strength to the department. The department offers U.G and P.G (Structural Engineering) programmes. The faculty and students of the department are dedicated to work in the current needs of the industry and have the ability to improve expertise in fields in Civil Engineering. The Structural Technology Centre (STC) is well equipped and involves in testing of building materials, non-destructive testing, and soil testing. It contains Structural test floor & Loading frame of 200, 100 and 30 T capacity for testing structures and structural components.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

To introduce the fundamental concepts of

the course in the proper perspective and to

have in-depth knowledge.
