1.6 and 2.0 CVVT petrolWith two DOHC petrol engines available, you can be sure you’ll have the combination of lively performance and superb fuel economy that’s right for you. The spirited 1.6 litre engine produces 89 kW @ 6200 rpm, delivering a superb 6.5 L/100km.1 While the 2.0 litre engine produces an impressive 105 kW @ 6000 rpm, with an astonishing 7.2 L/100km.1 Both engines are engineered with Constantly Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) technology to ensure power and economy are perfectly matched.

1.6 CRDi turbo DieselThe 1.6 Common Rail Direct injected (CRDi) turbo Diesel engine features a Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) to minimise turbo lag and increase efficiency at higher engine speeds for smooth delivery of power. The intercooled CRDi engine produces 255 Nm of torque for effortless driving with an astonishing fuel economy of 4.7 litres 1 for the hatch and 4.9 litres 1 for the wagon per 100 kms.

Intelligent technologyMacPherson strut front suspension and a sophisticated multi-link rear suspension have been fitted to perfectly complement i30’s high design rigidity, while ventilated 280 mm front and solid 262 mm rear discs with 4-channel Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) mean road handling is matched to the i30’s dynamic appearance.

Choose your driveAutomatic transmissions are quieter and more efficient than ever before and feature Hyundai intelligent Vehicle electronic control (HiVec) which adapts to your driving style. An ergonomically positioned gate shift also allows more precise control and smoother mode selection. The 5-speed manual transmission has been specifically engineered to give a precise short throw shift as well as reduced noise and maximum durability.

Environmental integrityThe 1.6 Common Rail Direct injection (CRDi) turbo Diesel engine is surprisely quiet, refined and smooth. More importantly for the environment i30 produces significantly reduced CO² emissions (125 g / km for the i30 hatch) and EURO IV emission compliance. This makes the i30 a practical alternative to complex and expensive hybrid cars. In fact, the i30cw wagon is one of the most fuel efficient wagons available, with some of the lowest CO² emissions of any wagon on the market. Hyundai motor company aims to make up to 95% of the i30 recyclable through developing technologies.

The safety of you and your passengers is our highest priority. The technology in i30 meets rigorous safety standards and is designed to provide you with total confidence and control behind the wheel.

5 Star SafetyMeeting Australia and the world’s strictest safety measures, all i30 models achieve the maximum possible safety rating – 5 Star ANCAP.*

ProtectPassive safety features help protect occupants and are incorporated for maximum protection including:• Six airbags (dual front, side and curtain SRS airbags)• Active anti-whiplash front head restraints• Seatbelt pretensioners, load limiters & height adjustable

upper mounts on front seatbelts• Impact absorbing, rigid occupant shell

Smart PedalAll i30 models are equipped with a ‘Smart Pedal’. ‘Smart Pedal’ technology allows the brake to take precedence over the accelerator in circumstances where both are engaged at the same time. This avoids unintended acceleration instead of braking.

AvoidActive safety features in i30 help you avoid trouble and stay in control. The combination of Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) help you avoid wheel lock and maintain control in emergency braking situations. EBD works with ABS to deliver the maximum braking effect to the wheels that need it, regardless of how the vehicle is loaded.Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control System (TCS) help to automatically compensate for over / under-steer to stabilise the vehicle and prevent skidding. In the event of wheel spin caused by over-acceleration, particularly on slippery surfaces, TCS momentarily applies the brakes on the spinning wheel until it regains traction with the road. The driver and front passenger are also alerted by a seat belt reminder system.

HALO – Your Guardian AngelWith the introduction of the Hyundai Active Locking Operation (HALO), your i30 is even more of a safe haven. HALO is programmed to automatically lock all the doors when the vehicle reaches 20 km / h. This prevents unwanted intrusion even when the vehicle is stationary. The driver and front passenger can still exit as normal and doors can be unlocked by pulling the inside door handle. In the event of a collision, the central locking will automatically unlock all the doors.
