UnipicK /KuiqpicK Cell and Tissue Acquisition Systems TM TM

Collecting individual cells directly from cell cultures for downstream single cell analysis, such astranscriptome sequencing or recultivation purposes, has remained challenging. Similarly, tissueheterogeneity poses a significant challenge for the retrieval of cell and region specific information.Existing approaches, such as flow sorting and laser assisted acquisition, are costly,sophisticated and often methodologically limited.

KuiqpicK™ and UnipicK™ are unique vacuum assisted cell and tissue acquisition systems permittingcutting edge cell specific research at low costs. Our patented vacuum impulse assisted collectionpermits rapid acquisition of single cells from any untreated cell cultures, providing reliable andaffordable means of most sophisticated experimentation. Moreover, the instruments are suitable forindividual cell collection and region specific acquisition of subanatomical areas from complexheterogeneous tissues such as the brain. Operation of both systems is intuitive and requires minimaltraining. Cell cultures require no treatment or specific peripherals, thus enabling unmatched flexibilityin experimental design and sample collection.

Perhaps one of the most distinct features is the ability of both KuiqpicK™ and UnipicK™ tocollect live cells for further reculturing and a plethora of downstream functional studies.Both individual fluorescently labeled and morphologically distinct cells can be acquired fromany cell cultures or tissue sections. Ready-to-use sterile Disposable Capillary Units (DCUs)with variable tip diameter ensure precision of the collection process and minimize contamination.

The instruments’ low cost, ease of use, single cell resolution, and minimal impact on cellviability, make them unique and vital research tools. While KuiqpicK™ is a microscope integratedcell and tissue acquisition system, UnipicK™ is a free standing instrument that can be mountedover a wide range of inverted microscope models, providing additional flexibility in the laboratory.

KuiqpicKTM is integrated with a fluorescence compatible invertedmicroscope (Olympus CKX41) and provides a wide range of celland tissue acquisition parameters.

Our sample acquisition process does not involve chemicaltreatment, laser irradiation, or excessive heat, thuspreserving the integrity of the macromolecules isolatedfrom the acquired samples.

This integrated system is an essential tool for anyresearch laboratory involved in single cell transcriptomesequencing, cell culturing, tissue region specific research,or single cell studies.

APPLICATIONS

Most methods for single-cell analysis require large numbersof cells, use workflows that are time consuming and toocostly, and often generate highly variable or unreliable data.

Both KuiqpicK 1.2 and UnipicK 1.0 permit rapid collectionof individual cells from various cell cultures for a range ofdownstream applications including single cell analyses.

Because small sample volume is incremental for singlecell research, KuiqpicK 1.2 and UnipicK 1.0 enable thecollection of a single cell in as small as 12 nl volume.

Profile or subculture cells by quickly and gently collectingup to 25 individual cells per minute from any cell culturedish with no pretreatment. Cells may be collected basedon their morphology or fluorescent label.

Adherent cells can be selectively collected from a standardcell culture dish without the use of Trypsin or other enzymes.Virtually any cell line and cell type can be collected to startselective subcultures. Up to 95% viability rates of collectedcells find numerous applications in a stem cell research,single cell research and many other fields of in vitro cellbased studies.

GFP positive individual CHO cells are collected from standardcell culture dish. This may be used for single cell research,

collection, analysis or enrichment of transfected cells.
