The Power to Perform When Seconds CountIn the field, when seconds count, and focus on the needs of your patient is critical, you need a resource that makes patient care reporting simple, accurate, and effective. iPCR is the powerful tool that delivers that advantage. iPCR is Electronic Patient Care Reporting that runs on the iPad and interfaces with Windows and Mac based computers alike. iPCR is designed to work the way you do and operate on the modern device everyone knows so well. You can customize iPCR from a wide array of features to suit the needs of your organization. Additionally, iPCR offers integrations for every step in the patient care process. PCRs must be complete and accurate, but you can’t let the process of creating them bog you down in an emergency situation. Let iPCR help you get it right, make units available sooner, and ultimately make a difference to those you protect.

Let’s face it: not all devices are created equal. Statistics show that paramedics who are stuck using paper or clunky laptops for their PCRs don’t produce the best results. You can hardly blame them. Their equipment isn’t optimally designed for the demands of the field, which is reflected by mistakes, poor productivity, and frustration – all of which are guaranteed to cost you money and reduce the quality of patient care.

You owe it to your team to equip them with the very best tools for the job. We’ve designed iPCR to work on the iPad, the simplest, most intuitive device available. It makes it so easy and quick for staff to create PCRs, many even say it’s fun. It provides administrators the tools needed to manage their organizations. More importantly, it’s fast, reliable, and secure - and that gives you the kind of performance and accuracy that keeps both your patients and your bottom line healthy.

I’m Dave Brady, a Captain Paramedic for the El Dorado Hills Fire Department, and a twenty-year veteranof the EMS industry. When I first started documenting my patient care I was using paper tags. Handwriting every PCR can be tedious and leads to poor patient care. Not only is legibility a problem, but having to do forms in duplicate or triplicate is a hassle, and there is no easy way to transfer data directly to another agency. In addition, I have used ePCR charting programs on Toughbooks. Bouncing down the road with a heavy, bulky laptop encased in an even thicker shell with keys that are at time unresponsive, does not lead to an accurate note.

The iPad is a smarter, faster, and more efficient device. Merging the PCR onto an iPad is the natural progression. Paper notes and less advanced ePCR systems cost you time and money. We have outfitted our entire department with iPads for a fraction of the cost of our previous hardware. The iPads are far more durable as there are no hinges or keys to break. In the year and a half since we started using iPCR we have not had one iPad break or become damaged. The cost and time spent on I.T. is far less.

The patient reaction to iPCR is incredible. From the first time they see you with their entire history inyour hands, to signing directly on screen, it’s like something out of science fiction. But cutting-edgetechnology cannot just look cool, it also has to make life simpler. With better servicing of patients and more rapid documentation, EMS personnel are able to respond that much quicker to their next call.

From an administrative standpoint, I can ensure the CQI standards are maintained with care and ease.I load a completed tag, review the information, and electronically send it back to the paramedic to correct and review any discrepancies. iPCR has made my life easier as a supervisor, as a paramedic, and as a colleague. It is the only PCR solution I recommend to fellow firefighters and paramedics.

Sincerely,Captain Dave Brady

iPCR Testimonials

FIREFIGHTER PROFILE: KELLY ZOOK

“iPCR is user friendly and easy to train on. You can go through and see everything easily and be completely paperless. There are no instructions needed... it really is pick up and go. iPCR made the QI/QA process easy and with the added web access you can perform audits from anywhere. You can easily tell this was made by and for fi refi ghter paramedics. Everything down to the body silhouettes are implementations we use daily. While using iPCR I have seen how it solicits feedback from its user base. iPCR is constantly evolving and ensuring we always get tags done quickly, effi ciently, and accurately.”

About Kelly: Kelly Zook is the former EMS Director of the Copperopolis Fire District. During his tenure with Copperopolis, he wasresponsible for implementing the iPCR solution and training teams on the product. During his thirteen-plus year career, he has served as a militaryfi refi ghter reservist, fi refi ghter paramedic, and in the private ambulance sector.

PARAMEDIC PROFILE: JOEL WARMAN

“First of all, the iPad is so much nicer than a Toughbook based product. It does not require a stylus and is easy to use. iPCR also has a clear concise workfl ow. You can instantly tell this was designed out the box for the end user, by the end user. From the time you start the tag, you are swiping between boxes and screens in the order you would actually handle the call. Another key point for us is how iPCR handles integrations. The fact that both CAD and RMS monitors integrate seamlessly means you can focus on the patient not the paperwork. iPCR will positively affect patient care with better time management and not having to be repetitive. Most software does not cover all three bases. Ease of use. Ease of data. Timely reporting. iPCR covers all three.”

About Joel: Joel Warman has been a paramedic for 13 years and doing fi re service work for over 16 years. Joel is married with four children and greatly values his free time.

iPCR Testimonials

MILITARY PERSONNEL PROFILE: DARIO GUERRA IV

“I would defi nitely recommend iPCR to everyone in EMS. It is a winner! iPCR makes the process of documenting an EMS patient encounter a breeze. Streamlined data entry utilizing drop down menu or human anatomical display for medical/trauma patients is the future of EMS. iPCR is a great technology to have in a military medical deployment, streamlining the required amount of equipment necessary to conduct and document a patient encounter even in austere combat situations. iPCR is quick and intuitive; a clear winner.”

About Dario: Dario Guerra IV is a retired United States Air Force Master Sergeant with over 20 years of decorated active duty service. An instructor for ACLS, PALS, and other EMS certifi cation programs, Dario was a IDMT (Independent Duty Medical Technician) and currently works as a civilian paramedic for the Air Force at Lackland AFB, TX.

EMS & AMBULANCE BILLING SERVICE OWNER PROFILE: LINDA BASHAM

“I began looking for a software product that would be quickly accepted by the EMTs and medics. I had determined that the iPad would make an excellent choice due to the ease of use, light weight, durability, and affordability. In rural areas particularly, budgets are strained and the hardware needs to be affordable. When I found the iPCR program on the internet it really caught my attention because it was exactly what I had expected: easy to learn and understand. I knew this would provide an appealing alternative for the crews to be able to create their trip reports on. In working with the implementation of several electronic platforms in the past, we had never found one that somebody didn’t have something to complain about. Our very fi rst beta client with iPCR told me something that I believe is amazing. They said ‘No one, not even that fi rst crew member complained about the program.’”

About Linda: Linda Basham is the owner of 911 Billing Services out of Madisonville, KY. Having worked in the EMS fi eld since 1984, Linda, in addition to running a successful business also serves on the Advisory Board for the National Academy of Ambulance Coders, on two POE-AG committees with Medicare, and the Advisory Board with the local college Medical Billing Certifi cation. Linda and her husband (who himself worked as a paramedic for 26 years) have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

CQI COORDINATOR PROFILE: SAM BRADLEY

“iPCR offers training, listens to customer feedback, provides resources to educators and students, and most importantly is reliable. If I have a question I know I can reach technical support immediately and they are very responsive. The program is easy to use andmaintain, and I have EMTs who have never seen the program telling me they could learn it in under a day. It is that simple. This isthe best software I have used ever. Easier. Simpler. More stable. More QI options. Better technology.”

About Sam: Sam Bradley has been a supervisor and CQI expert for both the public and private sector for many years. She is an expert in the fi eld for both paper and electronic reviewing.

EDUCATION COORDINATOR/EMS DIRECTOR PROFILE: LOCKY BEASLEY

“I made the decision to implement the iPCR program at Todd County EMS after seeing the program at a Las Vegas tradeshow. I then recommended it to be implemented at Hopkinsvile Fire this year, which it was. At Hopkinsville Fire we had previously useda competitor ePCR on Toughbooks, and had severe issues with both the program and the hardware. The iPCR program is user friendly. We literally loaded the iPCR on the iPad and one of the crews made a run with it right then and fi nished the PCR. Like ducks to water is the saying here. Compared to the other programs and hardware, the cost and maintenance of the iPads and iPCR is much less. The security is fantastic. The durability of the iPad is great. We have utilized Griffi n cases in conjunction with the iPadand not one has been damaged. The crews see the program as being much simpler and so they take better care of the iPads than

they did the Toughbooks. From a director and educator standpoint, the iPCR program is second to none.”

About Locky: Locky Beasley is the Education Coordinator for Hopkinsville Fire and the EMS Director for Todd County EMS, both in Kentucky. He is a paramedic/fi refi ghter and has been in EMS for 21 years.

EMS DIVISION CHIEF PROFILE: JOHN KAMMEYER

“Documentation is a necessary evil. You have to have some relationship to the fi eld to be able to design a product that will be used by fi eld people. That is what it boils down to with iPCR. The iPad provides a better experience than the Toughbooks. The User Interface is much better. There is simplicity in design. iPCR tracks data in a much more clear and progressive fl ow. You can inputdata with ease in a much quicker fashion and make sure it is the data you want. You can tell that iPCR was designed from a different perspective: the end user. Your company receives information from clients and you take it to heart. You say ‘Here is our product, how can we make it even better?’ The fact is, you understand what you are making because you have it EMT designed - you get it.”

About John: John Kammeyer is the EMS Division Chief of Central County Fire (California). He handles the training, safety, and protocols of more than 300 fi refi ghters/paramedics in six cities. He teaches fi re science courses at the College of San Mateo and is an American Heart Association regional faculty member for ACLS, BLS, and PALS.

FIRE CHIEF PROFILE: DAVE ROBERTS

“In the world we live in today, with decreased revenue and increased demands for service, we need to work smarter, not harder. From a fi re chief’s perspective, iPCR allows us to remove redundancy and helps us get more done in less time. We looked at several other products that were available on the market, but none of them came close to the iPCR. The iPad format was the number one deciding factor. It is a very intuitive, easy to use technology that most of our paramedics were already familiar with. It is very reliable and relatively inexpensive compared to a Toughbook style computer. iPCR makes it easier to manage the team from streamlining the billing process to less redundancy overall. Probably the most important aspect of the iPCR program is the fact that it was designed by paramedics for paramedics, because as we all know if the people in the fi eld don’t love it they won’t use it.”

About Dave: After a 15-year career in the hi-tech industry with Avantek & Hewlett-Packard, Dave Roberts began his career in the fi re service in 1988 and was appointed as El Dorado Hills Fire Department’s Fire Chief in May 2011.
