Just a few reminders below – if you have not yet returned permission notes for the Alpha show and our Swim School Program, please do so. I am hoping to meet with the Small Schools Principals this week to finalise our 3-6 School Camp for 2018. Once final details have been confirmed, I will send out an EOI (expression of interest) to gain an idea of how many students will be attending. If you do require any financial assistance please come and see me, and we can complete the application together. A huge thank you to our wonderful Grandparents that came along to Grandparents day last week, all of the students and staff loved having you here, listening to your stories and showing you all of our amazing work. You are all very special! Over the next 4 weeks we have 2 practicum students from Newcastle University with us. They will be working with Miss Hedley and the Bilbies and Miss Mahony and the Wallabies. Please make Jack Kelly and Olivia Hay welcome to our beautiful school. Celebrating Achievements Congratulations to Josephine on her amazing achievements showing cattle at Scone last weekend. She was asked by St.Catherine’s school to join their team, and they had some outstanding achievements. Well done Josephine, we are all very proud of you. Fundraising Our Year 6 students are again selling ice blocks each day to raise funds for their farewell dinner, fun day and farewell gift to the school. Zooper Doopers will be on sale for 50c. Year 6 students will collect orders at the start of each morning and students can request to have their Zooper Dooper at lunch or recess. Our Chicken Coop fundraiser is progressing well. We still have plenty of chooks left for sale and our cute ducks too; Mrs Burley is becoming quite attached to the fluffy trio. Our raffle will also help towards the purchase of our very own coop; tickets are on sale from the front office at only 50c a ticket. First Prize; Family Pass to Tree Tops, Second Prize: Family Pass to The Great Moscow Circus (must be able to attend on the 15 th November, 2017).

Permission notes and payment need to be returned to the office by Tuesday 7th November. There are only a limited number of spots available. Please note that the Wombats program will still go ahead at school, and tickets for the show are only being offered to current K-6 students.

Christmas Craft Our Christmas Craft Day will be held during week 10 of this term; Tuesday 12th December. If you would like to help with our Craft day please let me know. We would love to have you involved, either helping your child during the rotation activities or leading an activity if you have a passion for the arts and crafts. If you have any art and craft supplies you would like to donate to school, we would be more than happy to take them off your hands

Bilbies Class News

This Term in the Bilbies classroom we are studying the science unit ‘Paddock to Plate’. As a part of this unit, we have been growing some vegetables in the school vegetable garden and looking at where our food comes from. The Bilbies have loved planting and caring for our vegetable plants!

In Maths we have been looking at 2D shapes and participated in making shapes with our bodies! This was a very fun and engaging activity, which involved creative thinking and problem solving to ensure we had the right shapes. Below are some examples of the photos we took of our body shapes. There are more body shapes and shape activities displayed in our classroom, please come and look at our great work!!
