brombot, biomimicry desing challenge
DESCRIPTION
Backcasting from a vision of a sustainable future where water scarcity in the slums of Delhi is no longer an issue, the BromBot is a portable personal water storage device that draws inspiration from the water harvesting and storage mechanisms of the leek, lichen and bromeliad. The BromBot is designed to stand as a platform for future development of healthiness, wellbeing and interpersonal relationships as well as the infrastructure of Bhalswa itself.TRANSCRIPT

Define the context - Slums
“Almost 1 billion people, or 32 per cent of the world’s urban population, live in slums, the
majority of them in the developing world … And if no serious action is taken, the number of slum dwellers worldwide is projected to rise over the next 30 years to about 2 billion.”
