Prayers for Catenians and

families:

I have heard that Sheelagh Daley

is making slow progress but still

needs our prayers and support.

Barry Mizen has asked our

support to VOTE for his

submission of £150 prize from

those receiving treatment. Billie

(Aidan’s prospective daughter in

-law) has not been well and

returned to hospital. So we need

to redouble our prayers.

Please remember Tony

Leonard (Beckenham) who

been in hospital for over 2

months now & needs our

prayers too; and Bill

Donovan who is house bound

and would welcome visitors

and John and Elsie

McQuiggan. We pray for

ing refresh-

hough the day

was a little

cool but at

least it did

not rain!!

Nearly all of

them beat

the bookies

and came

away with

good deal of

winnings for

the day.

Plans are

already being

prepared to

arrange an-

other visit

for 2017. Perhaps many more ladies in the

Circle would be interested in forming a

group of Mothers and Daughters for a day

out next year.

Keep watching this

space for details?

capture the power of

forgiveness because we

are afraid of it, because

we have grown com-

fortable in our familiar

wounds, or because we

are sinfully stubborn.

But the power is there

demonstrates that for-

giveness will unleash

power in your life that

us underrated & often

ignored. It is underrat-

ed because it is

waiting for us. When you

clench your fists, fold your

arms & grit your teeth in anger

or hatred against someone,

you have no room in your

heart for God to place His

hand in yours. Replace your fist

with an open hand & watch as

God fills your soul to overflow-

ing. The lesson is simple.

This is Chris speaking at the Kirkham Cup this year at

the wonderful Civic Hall in Dover

and Provincial Council has posed the

question should Ladies be invited to

attend the Annual Speaking Compe-

tition? (Not to take part (not yet) but

should they be invited to attend as a

social event and support the Vice

President of the Circle who normally

speaks? Ladies do you want to come?

Let me know and let your husband

know so we can take a vote?? There is

one circle in Province considers that

Ladies should be allowed to attend

the Kirkham Cup and I know of at

least 2 Brothers in Bromley Circle

who think like me and vote Yes.

ns Day.

Fr Rosica, CEO of Canada's Salt & Light Catholic Media Foundation & the attache to the Holy See Press Office at the

Vatican, "Prior to Pope Francis, when many people on the street were asked: 'What is the Catholic Church all about?

What does the Pope stand for?' The response would often be, 'Catholics, well they are against abortion, gay marriage

& birth control. They are known for the sex abuse crisis" said Fr Rosica.

"Today that the response is somewhat different. What do they say about us now? What do they say about the pope?

People speak about our leader who is unafraid to confront the sins and evils that have marred us," he continued. "We

have a Pope who is concerned about the environment, about mercy, compassion & love, and a deep passion, care and

concern for the poor and for displaced peoples roaming the face of this earth," he added. "Pope Francis has won over

a great part of the media."

The pontiff "has changed the image of the church so much that prestigious graduate schools of business and manage-

ment are now using him as a case study in rebranding," the priest added.
