    Term 3 5 September 2019 Week 7

Last week was SASS Recognition Week – a week in which we

recognised the amazing contributions of our Support and

Administrative Staff at Goulburn East. This dedicated team of

people support our families, our students and the teachers every

day in a thousand ways with a smile and good humour!

Thank you from the Goulburn East School Community. We think

    you’re wonderful!

Another thank you – this time to Lee’arne Campbell and her

amazing group of helpers. Lee’arne has worked tirelessly to make

sure our canteen is a Healthy Canteen. Last week’s Butter Chicken

was delicious. Have a look on Page 4 of the newsletter to see what

is on this week and remember to order by Thursday morning.

Last Thursday 49 students, Mrs Baxter and Mrs Pattison had the

chance to spend the day at the Hume Conservatorium with the Con

staff and an ensemble from the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. The

students only needed to pay for the bus thanks to an act of

philanthropy by two people unknown to us. All the students came

back saying what an incredible day it had been.

On Thursday our Opera House choir will be heading up to Sydney

with our families to sing as part of the massed choir at the Festival

of Choral Music. Some of our students have had this experience

before, but for some it will be the first time performing in the

Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House. Well done to these 26

students and Mrs Gliddon– you have practised hard all year to

prepare! Next year this festival moves to the Sydney Town Hall due

to major renovations to the Opera House over the next few years.

Mrs Jones, our wonderful KJ teacher, is returning to work gradually

following significant surgery at the end of last term. It is wonderful

to have her back at school but it will be a gradual process. We have

been so lucky to have Miss Nye working with KJ in that time.

    Have a great week
