We the Parishioners of St. Mary’s of Assumption Parish, Bronson, acknowledge the mission of Christ on earth and know that our aim is to have God working through us. As a Christian community, we respond to the call of Jesus Christ to love each other as
Jesus loves us and to celebrate the Eucharist, so as to be strengthened to accept the responsibility to serve rather than be served. Together we are committed to the spiritual, physical and educational welfare of those of our parish family and beyond.

A PRAYER FOR OUR CHURCH
Heavenly Father, In every age, you have been our refuge. Yet again and still, we stand before you asking for your protection on your holy Church. For the victims of abuse and their families, pour out your healing and your peace. For the Bishops of this country, continue to inspire their deci-sions, and guide them with your Spirit. For the thousands of good and faithful priests, who have followed your call to serve you and your people in holiness, sustain them by your grace. For the faithful who are angry, confused, and searching for answers, embrace them with your love, restore their trust, con-sole them with your clear Gospel message, and renew them with your sacraments. We place our Church in your hands, for without you we can do nothing. May Jesus, our High Priest and true compass, continue to lead her in every thought and action – to be an instrument of justice, a source of consolation, a sacrament of unity, and a man-ifestation of your faithful covenant. Grant this through that same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

News from Fr. Vyverman
Dear Parishioners, On this 14th of October, the Church has two new Saints! Pope Francis will official-ly declare Pope Paul VI and Archbishop Romero as Saints of the Church. Both of these men are modern day Saints which helps many of us to identify with them and remind us how we can live like Saints. Archbishop Romero is a martyr; Pope Paul VI lead us as the Vicar of Christ. The Lord sends Saints in every age of the Church to call us to holiness and remind us that it is possible for us to do the same. I ordered a limited supply of holy cards for our churches for you to have and to pray for the intercession of these Saints. May these new Saints help us to draw closer to Christ! These past few Tuesdays we have been
using as a time to pray for the Church in
this time of Crisis. We wrap up these
special prayer times this Tuesday, Octo-
ber 16 with a final Mass and Rosary at
6:30 p.m. at St. Charles. I would appreci-
ate it if you could continue to keep the
Church in your prayers each day for heal-
ing and a greater call to holiness, to al-
ways seek Christ’s guidance in all that we
do.
Thanks for Reading!
Fr. Mark

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE - Having posses-sions is an illusion. In today’s gospel Je-sus told the young man to give up his need to control and put his trust in God. He couldn’t let go! In families, our need to control destroys relationships. We can lead, teach and encourage, but we can’t control anyone but ourselves.
