The municipality of Cluj-Napoca is the place where business meets a young workforce, highly qualified and specialized in the top fields of technology. With a complex and continuously developing infrastructure, Cluj city is the home of innovating start-ups and of large companies alike, that find here a continuously evolving, diverse, multicultural environment full of opportunities. Cluj Innovation Park is the first pillar of a master plan called Cluj Innovation City, meant to become the bridge between local authorities and the academic and business environment, in a cluster that unites the resources of the community, to create a business and research network.

The Regional Center of Excellence for Creative Industries (CREIC) and the TEAM Center - Cluj Metropolitan Area for Business Support, are the first two support structures created by the City Council of Cluj-Napoca for the local business environment, offering integrated business services. For the newly established companies, these structures offer the opportunity to invest all their business efforts into themselves, having at their disposal professional support services and optimal conditions (cost / benefit) for their businesses.

Located in the heart of Transylvania, the municipality of Cluj-Napoca is – from an entrepreneurial point of view – the most effervescent city in the country. The city can take advantage of a vibrant academic community, an active business environment, and a calendar full of major cultural events. Top level healthcare services, an engagement in active sport life and an impressive historical heritage are among other reasons, which transform Cluj city into the destination to which people come and in which they live with pleasure, making the mission of companies to develop here top businesses with elite personnel, even much easier.

ROAD TRANSPORT The city is crossed by the European road E60

(Bucharest – Oradea – Budapest – Vienna). The county has 2,451 km of public roads, from which 342

km are national roads, 298 km of modernized roads and 2,109 km of county and village roads.

RAIL TRANSPORT

The Cluj-Napoca railway station is situated on the rail main line no. 300 of the Romanian Railroads

(Bucharest - Oradea), enabling national and international connections.

AIR TRANSPORT

The "Avram Iancu" International Airport offers direct connections to the major European destinations (like

London, Vienna, Munich, Rome or Budapest), but also cargo flights for companies.

Cluj Innovation City is the largest urban development project of Cluj city, a sort of a “city within a city”, that will occupy a 200 hectare surface in Lomb area of the municipality. The total investment is approximately 300 million Euro. The companies operating in the fields of science and technology will find here latest generation infrastructure and facilities meant to boost the development of products and services with a significant added value. But this project means more than infrastructure: Cluj Innovation City represents a commitment of the local authorities to collaborate with the academic and business environment with the goal of creating a culture of innovation and to stimulate partnerships between major players who give value to the community. This process will lead to the creation of workplaces requiring high qualifications and important facilities for new businesses, experts and university graduates.

Cluj Innovation City wishes to stimulate the intellectual capital of the country and of foreign countries, as well as to encourage the development of various technologies. The scope of Cluj Innovation City is to become the largest innovation hub in Eastern Europe, a meeting point for mature companies, as well as for new ones alike, which intend to develop new technologies with added value, in a variety of fields. The objective of the project will stretch beyond the business sphere: it will become the new standard not only for the development of new businesses, but also for the development of new institutional, cultural and educational approaches, all centered on technology.

Cluj Innovation Park is the company created by the City Council of Cluj-Napoca with the purpose of administering and developing the Regional Center of Excellence for Creative Industries (CREIC) and Center for Technology, Evolution, Entrepreneurship and Microenterprises (TEAM). The mission of Cluj Innovation Park is to create an attractive and innovative business center, with the help of the business support structures (CREIC and TEAM), working together with the academic and business environment of Transylvania. The center is going to offer complete integrated services, at the best possible quality, corresponding to their customer’s expectations, in optimized and sustainable economic conditions (cost / benefit). The vision of Cluj Innovation Park is to become regional leader among business centers that support the valorization of entrepreneurial, creative and innovative potential, encouraging the transfer of technology and knowledge.

CREIC is a regional business structure dedicated for companies being active in the creative industries. Unique, seen through the prism of complexity and diversity of services offered, but also through the prism of design of the entire structure, the center is aiming to obtain the cluster effect that will boost competitiveness through information exchange and business partnerships. Additionally, CREIC is the only creative center in Transylvania that is going to have its own film studio (film production hall). Furthermore, this will progress as a business support structure centered around two activity components. The companies will benefit from spaces in which they can perform their activities (office spaces, creative workshops, audio-video production environments) or in which they can organize various events (spaces with multiple functions in which conferences, exhibits, artistic performances, etc., can be held, respectively a green amphitheater for outdoor events), as well as services and facilities in accordance with their needs.

Technology, Evolution, Entrepreneurship and Microenterprises – these are the pillars on which the TEAM Center – Cluj Metropolitan Area for Business Support is built. The project includes infrastructure necessary for the support of the business environment in the fields of information technology, electronics and electrotechnics, identified in the present moment as areas in full growth. The TEAM Center is designed to integrate offices, meeting halls, administrative offices and modular offices, as well as halls for microproduction and areas of land (greenfield land).

More than just a space dedicated for innovation, the TEAM Center will provide support services in a wide array of domains, which will allow entrepreneurs to focus their efforts on the essence of their businesses, while being in the same time supported by specialists in the fields of: • Financial and legal consultancy. • IT consultancy. • Marketing services. • Partnerships.
