The park’s grand opening occurred in September 2015.

EPA Grant Recipient: Northside Industrial Development Co.

Year Awarded: 2011

Grant Types: Petroleum Assessment

Former Uses: Water Treatment and Power Plant

Current Uses: 10 Acre Public Park

The former Brownfield site was assessed by North Side Industrial Development Company’s FY11 coalition grant. The phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments cost $45,417 and assisted the Borough and Friends of the Riverfront to accomplish the task of converting the former 8 acre water treatment plant and power plant into a park. Construction is now complete and the park had it’s grand opening in September 2015. That eastern portion includes a $1 million statue that children are able to play on as well as other recreational features.
